Picked her up Friday. I’ll post some pics when I clean her up.

I had never driven an M car. I had a 2022 M440, not the same. This car is a total dream. Everything I could imagine and more.

Looks great, love the color. The newest car I’ve ever owned (and still do) is my 2013 BRZ and the fastest car I’ve ever owned was my 2005 G35 6MT. This is going to be a giant leap forward, from power to tech. It’s replacing my 1999 528i wagon, ha.

Oof this picture is getting me going. Mine (same color) may be arriving as early as tomorrow.

Waiting for this to flip back to carrier from the destination port is killing me.

Best Genius can tell me is that it's currently scheduled for transport to dealer today, but that it's still possible for that to get rescheduled to a later date.

I love when you guys talk about how it drives. I’m coming from an old electric car and have never driven anything nice before. I look forward to seeing what it’s like one day...

Is anyone else here stuck at the NY/NJ VPC?

My car has been there since Monday 10/28 with no updates. Had a tentatively scheduled transport date for yesterday, 10/31, but that doesn't seem to have happened. I don't have any port installs.

Genius says the system shows a work order started 10/29 that is not yet showing as closed in the system, but they said since they have not gotten any updates, the work order could be finished and just not updated in the system.

Best they could give me was to call back Monday or Tuesday and see if they've gotten an update.

I was week 37 and took delivery last week. Drove a total of 10 miles to get from dealer to home and then straight to PPF, tint, ceramic shop where it spent another week. Finally picked up for real yesterday.

I had driven the M cars a handful of times for short periods. Over that span of 24 years, I've only had a BMW 3 series, everything from E46 323i to F30 340i. Those cars, while I appreciated them and loved driving them, feel sort of like tin cans compared to this G80 M3. The car feels like a tank with a solidity and stoutness that no other 3 series has been able to communicate. I don't even include the power of the car, because my Dinan 340i was stupid fast, it just didn't feel like this G80.

Mileage

How many miles did your M3s have when you guys picked them up from the dealer? Mine had 193. A bit high for a new car IMO.

This was on a custom order that you placed? Yeah that's way too high. Someone took it for a ride.

From the other threads on this topic, most cars get delivered with 7-13 miles on it or so going through the ports/boats/trains/lots/etc

I’d be pissed. The first few hundred miles are critical for break in. I made sure to tell my SA that no one test drives mine when it arrives. Part of my OCD 😳

My M had 10 miles, my supra had 2 miles. I personally would not have accepted that car...someone was definitely joy riding it

Are you sure it had 193 miles? The only reason I ask is because I was looking at the instrument cluster on another car and I thought it had 156 miles until I realized I was looking at the fuel remaining miles.

My car has been at the NJ VPC since 10/28. Had no info at all about what was causing the delay until I bugged my CA enough for him to talk to someone at the VPC to figure it out.

Apparently at the VPC they noticed a few air bubbles under the piece of PPF that BMW puts on the flared rear wheel arch, so they are replacing it, but they have been waiting for the piece of PPF to come in.

Embarrassed to say that I have been refreshing MYBMW dozens of times per day hoping to see it flip to In Transit. No luck yet. So close, yet so far...

Yes, that’s what it was! I was looking at the fuel status. It actually came with 11 miles.

Forgot to post my pickup but picked it up Oct 26. Dropped it off for ppf, cc, and tint on 10/28 and was ready 11/1. Currently have ~600mi.

Crash wrap applied to the front for the 3hr drive (blue tape was for the parts I cut too much on the film.)
