Prices above MSRP

I talked to Riverside BMW just to get some info on a unclaimed individual color M3. It’s MSRP price was 100k. The salesman said that they markup all the new M3’s $25,000 especially individual color.

25k???? I had talked to Pacific BMW earlier and they said they mark up above MSRP too but I didn’t ask how much. They were both dealers in Los Angeles. Is this a cali thing? The salesman was polite but I can’t believe he had the audacity to say to me ‘ Just imagine yourself driving down the streets of L.A. with a unique colored car. I wanted to laugh so hard but I kept it professional 25k???

What person out there is going to pay that?

Probably a good example of location, location, location. Being effectively an LA dealership means they would have no trouble selling a $100K car, even if it was marked up. I know I would not pay 1 cent over MSRP.

Looks like they have 16 M3 available to buy so either they are ordering a bunch or their strategy is garbage.

Probably some dumbass 20 year old who will finance it for 72 months with an absurd interest rate

Are you still in the market? I thought you were going a different direction. What happened to your car that just recently arrived?

Laughable. Individual is a $4,500 option that anyone who is willing to pay for can get. It does not justify an over MSRP markup.

Funny that some dealerships are still trying to sell this BS, it isn’t 2021/2022 anymore. Allocations are abundant now, even on M3’s.

Call around, you will find plenty of dealers gladly wiling to sell at MSRP, individual or otherwise.

Working with the $25k number: you can get the car for cheaper from almost anyone, have it delivered to PCD, have a blast in SC, have it shipped to your house. MSRP +$25k is insane.

I had to do a double take because I just saw a similar spec for sale in Monterrey while browsing last night (Link)

Unless that's not agave and just looks like it! Such a good color. Grab his car OP! I'm ordering an Xdrive in Agave (just waiting on my allocation..)

Easy to get 8-10% off on M4's (even in SoCal)...not so much on M3's where MSRP is still the norm.

Ps, the 8-10% off comes from broker postings I've seen at leasehackr so check there. I was also able to get a local SoCal dealer to match but ended up not getting after a test drive.

Contacted a number of So. Cal dealers before I placed an order recently. All at MSRP for a G80. None would budge from MSRP though.

I called about 6 dealerships looking for an allocation and only had one that charged over MSRP and it was 5k over. All other dealers were only MSRP (Vegas, Utah, AZ, and a couple in L.A.)

how's the situation with finance/lease APR markups in california? I spoke recently to my local dealer in norcal, they're selling at MSRP but markup the finance/lease by the allowed 1%. Just wondering if that's the norm and if some dealers budge on this and don't mark it up?
The only other time I leased a new BMW 430i 5 years ago the dealer (a different one) didn't budge on that part either, but that was during much lower interest rate times and with tons of lease incentives.
