M3 + Autumn = Magic

What’s better than the crackle of crisp fall air? The sound of my Aventurine Red M3 Competition xDrive roaring through the backroads of Germany, of course. 🍁

There’s something about the changing of the seasons that makes driving an M3 even more special. The fall foliage almost competes with the Aventurine Red paint for attention—almost. If you’ve ever taken a spirited drive through winding roads surrounded by fiery reds, oranges, and yellows, you know the feeling. It’s like nature itself wants to race.

After a long week, I grabbed my keys, and cleaned the M3. And well, while cleaning it, the M3 lured me into a ride out…

These German roads seem like they were designed specifically for us—those who appreciate every precise downshift, every sharp corner, every stretch of tarmac where you can open it up just enough to remind yourself why you drive a BMW. It’s not about speed (OK, maybe a little), but about that feeling of pure connection between you and the machine.

Aventurine Red in its Natural Habitat

While the fall scenery was putting on a show, my M3 wasn’t exactly shy either. Aventurine Red is a head-turner, and out here, it popped against the autumn backdrop like a supercar in a landscape painting. I got out to snap some pictures to share with you all (check them out below), but honestly, they barely do the moment justice.

At one point, I pulled over just to take it all in—the forest quiet, the car’s engine still ticking with heat, and a view that could stop anyone in their tracks. It’s moments like these that remind me: this isn’t just a car, it’s an experience.

xDrive + Fall Leaves = A Match Made in Heaven

I know, I know—the purists will say the M3 should always be RWD. But when you’re cruising over a layer of damp fall leaves, with roads slick from the morning dew, xDrive feels like a gift from the car gods. All that power, all-wheel traction, and just the right amount of playful rear bias. It’s like the car was reading my mind, eager to push but never overstep. BMW, you nailed it with this one.

The Ultimate Driving... Therapy?

By the end of the day, I had no idea how many miles I’d clocked. Didn’t care. The sun was setting, the tank was nearly empty, and I was completely content. There’s something therapeutic about these drives—especially in a car that’s as dialed in as the M3. If you know, you know. 🙌

All in all, this was one of those perfect afternoons that make you fall in love with driving all over again. So here’s to fall, to backroads, and to the best driving partner anyone could ask for—my M3 Competition xDrive.

Would love to hear about your Fall/Autumn cruise and photos!👇

I saw an Aventurine M this weekend and had to go follow to ogle that color. First time seeing it, and it’s more beautiful in person. Kinda like black cherry metallic mixed with ruby red candy…

Yeah, I love mine and get a lot of compliments. Definitely better in person....pictures hide a lot of the nuance to it. In brighter light it's a deep blood red, but still bright if that makes sense. In overcast or darker times, you get more of the gold and brown tones to it.

I never tire of it and it suits the car extremely well.

german.dude great shots and I am truly jealous. I grew up in the Hudson River valley of NY. My next door neighbor was from Bavaria and she said she moved to where we lived because it reminded her of where she was from in Germany. Having been lucky to visit Bavaria twice and spend some time driving around, not just stuck in the City, I can say the two are very comparable.

Fall is the one thing I truly, deeply, miss about the North East. It is just magical. The light, the leaf colors, the smell of the air, the temperature, etc. You don't get much of it as winter quickly takes over and the trees being bare, the short days and the gray skies are definitely depressing. But for those magical 4-6 weeks, oh boy is it great.

Thats actually something I love about the US, one country yet so many differnt places and colors to it. And you can throw what ever wheels and parts on your car without being deemed a criminal. In Germany to be a car enthusiast has many, many limitations.

But its still a beautiful country🍂

The car looks so good!

Btw I noticed your plates and see you’re in Gelhausen or one of the surrounding areas. Any suggestions on some good roads to drive around there? I’m in Germany every year as my wife grew up there so I’m pretty familiar with that area as my in laws live in Schlüchtern. I usually like to drive from there to the back roads that take you to the A7 or Bad Bruckenau. I always rent an M car from Sixt but this summer I tried out a Porsche 911 GTS 😎.
Anyway, would be cool to maybe meet up next time I’m there. Enjoy the car!

Such a great color, agreed one you must see in person! Reminds me of my dads Arena Red 993, one of my all time favorite reds- just pure class. This was the exact spec we saw at a dealer when she gave me the go ahead to place an order, really no bad colors across the line up! Averturine would’ve been my choice but had to meet the wife somewhere in the middle, so went with Dravit to fly a bit under the radar.

Schlüchtern is very close!

The backroads around there are very nice, I do not know all of them yet since I just moved here. I am originally from the other side of Frankfurt, the Taunus area, there are some amazing mountain roads. Its a 45 min drive to the nice spots! So just contact me when you are around and we‘ll have a blast in the Taunus 😊
