Review of Dailying a G82 for 1 month at the age of 20
Hey yall I wanted to give a quick heads up on what its been like after a month of ownership in my Sapphire Black g82 at the age of 20.
Context: When I was 18, I got a nice scholarship to a college and with the money we saved on that, my family was kind enough to get me an F82 Silverstone Competition, I drove it for close to 2 years, with no crashes, no scratches, and I had fun with it when road conditions and traffic were appropriate. Around a year ago we got a good deal to sell it, so we did since my parents wanted to use that money for a Truck to do some farm-based work which I wasn't too upset about. Fast forward now, I was able to stack a good amount of money myself while still being in college double a double major, and with our farm work taking off thanks to the truck, My pops and I reached an agreement to sell the Tundra and use it towards the Black G82. I am covering whats left over from the trade-in. Review: The x Drive platform on the G82 just puts me in such a peace of mind. Having the RWD f82 wasn't as bad as I thought but the car would still spin sometimes (nothing bad but I'm also a very very good driver now so there's that). I like that the x Drive lets me switch into RWD when I need it to, but I only plan on switching to RWD when I wanna do some donuts or something. I almost always keep it in x Drive because the car feels stable, turns so well, AND just rips power to the wheels and goes so fast. It's unbelievable how fast and controllable the g82 is compared to the f82. I drive this car on Dallas North Tollway most days to college and it's a very smooth experience. This car has also gotten me a lot more attention from normal folks than the F82 did (I believe it's because the grills and body design just look so distinct from everything else on the road M or not). The breaking is just crazy good, I have so much more control over a 520HP Demon than most 200hp "safe" cars. I can't wait to add some parts to it and really make it stand out. If you have any tips for the build please let me know! I would want to hold on to the factory warranty and I'm not sure if I want to lower it because of how Dallas roads are. But yeah TLDR driving is a skill, and I'm glad I have that skill along with some solid common sense! |

I've had my G82 for a few years now, went to Europe for a month on vacation, and just got back yesterday. In Europe, I was driving little dinky rentals you'll only find there. Renault, etc.
In the States, I only drive my car, and I almost became desensitized to the performance, speed, and firepower it brings. Getting back in that thing this morning and blasting it was like being sold all over again, and really puts in perspective the delta between this and any sort of normal car. Tldr, if you want to appreciate your car even more take a break from it.

I am also a very very good driver, cheers fellow pole-sitter. Or whatever you call somebody who always gets the pole. I mean pole position. Not a sexual thing. Ahem.

Setting the bar high early! You are very lucky all jokes aside and a part of less than 1% of kids your age. However, I don’t think you can fully appreciate what it takes financially to afford a car like this on top of day-to-day adult responsibilities, a missed life lesson in my opinion. Stay humble and drive safely!

Driving and what’s it like blah blah , all has been done, written about and back again. What i want to know about driving a G82 as a 20 year old is , How much ass does it get you? or are you too busy farming and Double majoring in whatever. ?
Sorry, I wasn’t born into it so I need to live vicariously through you.
