The brakes on my new M4 new keep squealing

The brakes of my new M4 competition keep squealing, especially at low speed, at my first inspection at the dealer I was told that it is normal for this type of vehicle, that even if I bought a Porsche it would do the same?

it is quite annoying for such a beautiful car.

I don't know what to do anymore, it still squeals?

I am still on stock pads and share the same complaint with you and 100s of others. If you do a quick search you will find ton of suggestions. I just keep washing it. Lol. Plus I don't daily mine so it doesnt bother me a ton, but I hear you for a 100k car, why is it so noisy?? 😆

EBC red (if you can find them) or iSweep 1500/2000 seem to be the most popular.

Same for me here in the UK.

Fitted iSweep 1500 front & rear and now there is zero squealing and virtually no dust.

Yes to what others have said - iSweep 1500 or EBC red. I won’t see my M3 until November and have already picked up a set of the iSweeps. Totally worth it IMO.

Garage List
No-cost remedy: do several repeated hard stops and the noise should go away.

get the EBC red or yellow, both will severely lower the squeaking sound

Read my post a few posts up (EBC red noise). Should be pretty easy to get the stock pads quiet. Sometimes it just takes an inspection (by you) and a bit of brake housekeeping.

The dealer will tell you that it’s “normal” and won’t fix it. Both my M Sport brake 540i and M2 have had low-speed brake noise that I fixed myself. No, you don’t need to change pads.

Good luck! 👍

Still have to deal with the horrible brake dust though...

Isweep 1500 for OEM bite and super low dust

Isweep 2000 for more bite than OEM and low dust

Hit up RGSport for your Isweep needs. Fast shipping. I got the Isweep 2000 for when my car gets delivered. Good luck!

I just hit 2,000 miles on my car and the breaking was squealing pretty bad. It's a daily and gets mostly light braking so I guess it had built up a glaze. I went to the industrial park and gave it a couple of big 50-0 stops and the squeaking is gone. I still might go to iSweeps or EBC's for the dust, but I think the squeak is manageable.

That'll last for a few weeks and then it will be back. If you can deal with the dust, it is effective and cheap.

Personally I couldn't deal with the dust and went to iSweep 2000's and love them.

I know that, so like you said it's either a maintenance thing or a pad change.I might still do the pads for the dust alone, but that's not for everyone so just giving an option.
