OP, do not fear the buckets, they are great.
They might feel a little cumbersome for a couple days maybe longer if you have never had bucket seats as you figure out your entry/exit. Once you get that down you do not even think about the seats outside of how great they are and how you would never want a basic seat. My car is a daily, 6MT, family hauler, do school pick-up several times a week. I am in and out of my car a lot, more than most drivers and I love my buckets. I have driven and owned cars with bucket seats....so I did not have the dreaded anxiety that so many get on this issue. I knew it would be a pain for a few days, then I would love them and that is exactly what has happened. |

I'm just here to say, I'm disappointed by the sport seats in my G80.
The sport seats in my E82 135i were so much better at keeping me secured while cornering. Possibly even more comfortable in general. I didn't really consider the carbon buckets because I thought the sport seats would at least be as good as the old 135i, but I find myself sliding all over the place in the G80 and have to use my legs to brace myself way more than I ever thought I would in this car. I'd go for the buckets had I knew, I think. |

I’ve never actually sat in the buckets in an m3, only in an m2 and I’ve been told that the seating position makes them somehow more comfortable to relax in the m3 (whatever that means) |

Bingo, my order was a 2025 with no options IOMG on black, managed to get fully optioned IOMG on Tartufo buckets for a less than my order. Not LCI I know but I don’t believe the lci outweigh’s all the extras on the car I’ve bought. M3 demand is decent here, but we get tourings so I believe the load on orders is spread a bit. Our cars a quite expensive here though, retail including all taxes on the car I purchased is around $220k

I think the real saving grace for the buckets is the adjustability factor. If they were fixed and the lumbar support wasn't present it'd change the dynamic IMO. Ingress/egress is somewhat of a pain until you figure out what works for you, but when seated, they're just fantastic. |
