KW HAS question ?
Bimmerpost
Today I lowered my G80 M3 with a KW HAS kit and the result is very disappointing. The fronts are maxed out and the front ride height is basically OE. Prior to putting on the new perches I marked the original perch height and orientation but still something seems to be off. Any help or incite would be appreciated. Thank you |

New perches should go lower on shocks than OE perches, not at the same mark, it sounds like you put them on the same mark. It will also settle a bit, give it a short ride. Other than that, KW HAS will not give you slammed look, if you are looking for that, but should be able to go lower than your pic.

Center line of sway bar link holder yes, so same orientation/rotation. But depth no, bottom of KW spring mount should be 50mm from start of the camfered edge on shock. It is all in manual that is included with the kit, not the best explanation there but they have picture that shows how to measure 50mm

Do you have any photos of the front assembly?

The perches don't seem to be at max low unless you took that photo prior to adjusting?

That's correct. I took that photo prior to settting the ride height. They are indeed maxed out at their lowest adjustability point

Looks like they're installed correctly based on the photos then. Only thing I can think of is make sure the strut assembly is fully seated into the spindle? I ran max low on my MP HAS with LMs and this is what they look like for reference.

They are not pressed all the way down, 100%. This is how correctly installed seats will look like, you should not even be able to see chamfered edge on the shock and there will be good 5mm gap between start of the threads and white plastic part. From your photo it looks like you can press it a lot more.

Wow! The ride height looks great max low on MP HAS. What size are your LMs up front? 20”? I’m adding MP HAS on my MY25 build and I’m always back and forth whether the MP HAS will go low enough for my liking. Your example looks great in the front.
