My Wheels Collection: 3rd:BBS LM in Diamond Black 2nd: LMR & 1st: RID. G81 M3 Touring

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
After all these years owning several Bmw’s, I finally got the M3 Touring Competition Xdrive! It’s been a dream for me of owning a wagon and we’re so lucky to have M3 wagon here. I’ve had Brooklyn Grey G82 M4 Competition last year and as soon as they started selling the wagon, I immediately sold the M4 last month and Got the wagon just 3 weeks ago from a local BMW dealership. No waiting for wagon here. We have lots of units available at the dealer. All colors. So, it is 2024 and the color is Skyscraper Grey with Black leather interior.

Anyway, as usual, let’s get going with the modifications! We do have several aftermarket shops around here that fortunately have all the parts ready to installed. Only some of the Parts needed to be order. Thanks to Fedex and Ups express I got all the order within one week. Awesome! Here’s the list:

Heavens across the sky, if this isn't THE build of the second half 2024 ...

I stopped reading the list of mods after Akrapovic exhaust.

Literally an epic build.

The fitment is perfection. Do you happen to know what the offsets are for the wheels?

Thank’s! Really appreciated…Akrapovic really is the work of art. I will post some pictures of the exhaust. Awesome exhaust systems! Very expensive but worth every penny!

Thanks! Sadly, I couldn’t choose the carbon buckets option here. Comfort seat is the only one available…bummer. Anyway I could order it after but it would cost $30K and the waiting line around 6-8 months. So hell noo…lol.

Thank you! The RID spec are:
Front: 9,5”. Et: 10
Rear: 10,5. Et: 15

However, with these specs I have to use 10mm spacers front and back. Otherwise it will be too flush in. So, I just bought a set of LMR with 10/11” wide. It should fit better. I will post some pictures as soon as I put the wheels on

It’s all good. I was also worried at first because the xdrive, but apparently it’s all the same (RWD And Xdrive). 275/295 rides the same as the standard wheels. What’s more, the H&R lowering springs also works flawlessly. Again, I was also skeptical at first. G81/80/82 uses the same exact shocks. But it feels much softer in The Touring. I used the same lowering spring in my M4 and it rides stiffer and more bouncy. So, I was using KW V3 on the M4. Well, not the case with the Touring. There is no need for coilover. It rides wonderfully. What an awesome car!

I have a set of bbs ri-d coming in next week and wondering if 5mm or 7mm all around will work. I don’t want too aggressive.

Yes. It will work fine. You should try without. That’s what I did with the 9,5&10,5 LM on my M4. No spacers. It looks pretty nice.

The LMRs look incredible! Dream spec to be honest. No spacers, correct? Do you have full LMR specs?

Thanks. Yeah, It’s crazy good the fitment. Almost unbelievable. Yes. No spacer needed for the rear. Also for the front was pretty spot on. I guess the 10/11” wide are the perfect combination. Here are the spec for the LMR: Front 10”/ET 12. Rear: 11”/ET 14

Awesome! Keep coming back this thread to check out your car, really tastefully done. Btw, have you weighed the LMRs? I wonder how they compare to the stock 826s or 825s weight wise.

Two of my biggest wheel enthusiast pet peeves: 1) adding spacers; 2) messing with the diamond cut factory BBS lip finish.

You're in violation of neither. That deep BBS stepped lip straight outta Japan is world class and timeless. Enjoy!

Thanks again! The LMRs 20” weight 26,4 lbs. Not sure about the stock 826s though. I did lifted by hands the 826. It’s extremely light. My guess is around 17 lbs. One thing for sure…The RID is a clear winner. That wheels its sooo light. It’s 15,5lbs for the 20’s. One of the lightest wheels in the world! I love that wheels! However, LMR with step lips looked much better for the M3 Touring.

Thank you...

Yes, 275 on the 9,5" is perfect! As for the rear 295 for the 10,5". 285/295 for 10/11" are spot on. You could also try the Cup 2 if you want more meaty look.

KW V3 Coilover with Module Deleter. Installation was straightforward. Setup is for comfort ride. A couple clicks softer from a default rebound and bump settings. It’s so smooth. It’s so stable in high speed and yet very soft when it hit pot holes. Awesome coilover!
