Deploying - how to store car?

Next weekend I’m flying to Europe for 2.5 weeks and I’ll be back at the end of September. Then approx 15 October I’m deploying to Qatar for 6 months. The car will be parked in the garage with a battery tender.
I’m currently in E so I’ll make sure I run the tank low and then drive on straight gas until I leave.
It’s been over 10 years since I stored a high performance car for that long so I wanted to see what the best way to do so was.
I am considering having my wife drive it around the block every two weeks, make sure it gets up to operating temp and then just hook it up to the battery tender - but I’m also nervous of her doing so since it’s lowered and we have some aggressive speed bumps.

I bought the car with 19K miles and I’ll have about 23K on when I deploy - should I change the oil before I leave? Does it matter how much fuel I have in the car?

Im open to recommendations.

Thank you,
Pat

Don’t drive it short distances up to temp and repark. That’s not long enough, it’ll be worse for the car. Just park it with battery charger and leave it until you get back. It’ll be fine. Maybe 1/4 tank of gas or less and when you get back, fill it with fresh gas and it’ll be fine. Don’t leave E in the tank.

Could get some flat spot protectors for the wheels, I'd be most concerned about the tires flat spotting since you have the majors covered already.

I’m having 10weeks on/off schedule so I just disconnecting battery in trunk and leave about half tank. For 6 month depends on climate, but I think it will be enough to crank after. Or if you have your own garage you can simply put charger for storage.

15 mins or so isn’t enough? Fair enough. I can certainly leave it parked in the garage with a 1/4 tank. Thank you.

Is that really still an issue these days? I know years past it was but didn’t think it was these days with low profile tires etc.

I have a garage so I’ll use the trickle charger instead of unplugging it.

That was an issue with bias-ply tires years ago. I am not aware of any issues with modern day radials.

I think it's a risk with softer performance tires given compound, but I'm in the better safe than sorry camp.

Also, thank you for your service OP.
