I have not done a hard restart of the system yet. Can software be uninstalled and reinstalled with ID 8? I am thinking "factory reset" only effects settings and does not change software but have no idea practically.

Anyone else have any issues?
A hard reset and a Sirius refresh sorted it.

Didn't notice any changes after updating but my spotify stopped working today during a longer drive. Was forced to listen to public radio for an hour 😵*💫.
Really not a fan of 8.0... Hope my May delivery at least has 8.5.
Bugs I had include the above, another time climate control buttons stopped working, on one drive the entire system crashed with black screen for about 20 minutes. And more. It just feels like abandonware which of course it is despite the updates.

While I'm on a rant, with id8 I'm at 18°/64F temperature. Any other car I've always been fine at 21° (70F) but this one for some reason insists on blowing hot air in the footwell. Anyone else notice this? And there is no way to control airflow but the stupid dynamic/balanced setting.

OH SHIIITTT i just updated to the newest version and my burble is GONE! WTF i have AA EL midpipe and it sounded great before this damn update made a huge exhaust note difference.

Make sure your M Exhaust button on the center console is on. Updates are not deleting burbles.

And make sure your M1/M2 settings haven't been reset (mine had) and you're in comfort engine mode.

Same here.
Some of my M1 settings were changed, not M2, not sure why.
Every time, have to reset the remote engine start.
And this time, it looks like the few things I changed with bimmercode have not affected.

Probably because your m2 settings are the default m2 settings m1/m2 are fully reset every time the ecu is flashed. Anyone with a custom tune who has been through a bunch of revisions is very familiar with reprogramming their m1/m2 settings very quickly.

May be a complete coincidence but right at or about the same time that I received this update, my back-up assist stopped working. Anyone else notice this happen? It’s probably my favorite unexpected feature in the car since it makes getting out of my tight 1-car garage so much easier. Do I need it, no but man it gives me a lot more confidence when my wife borrows it and takes it out of the garage.

I haven't (ever) configured my M2 yet, but my M1 settings survived both 11/2023 and 03/2024.

I've gone through 3 updates now and my M1/M2 have never reset. Even with the CS flash, my M1/M2 settings have survived. Neither are default.

it resets when the ECU is flashed. The CS flash is not touching the ECU so that definitely won't reset it. Possibly some of the updates pushed through idrive also don't flash the ECU and then won't reset the m settings either.

Kubax said some of is coding and some of it is "flashing," is that not flashing the ECU? Is it only certain ECUs getting flashed that reset M1/M2?

ECU = Engine control unit, you only have 1 of those and it's locked from the factory.

The CS flash flashes the TCU = Transmission control unit. The rest of the CS stuff is coding.

There's tons of other modules in the car which also can be flashed by updates but only the engine control unit is affecting the m buttons.

I've always heard those modules referred to as different "ECUs" but I guess not.

If it's going to mess up a bunch of coding, I wouldn't. If not, then you might as well for the security aspect of it.

I don't have anything coded - my dongle and Bimmercode/Link have been collecting proverbial dust since before delivery - so I update mine regularly.
