Msport colors on door and above glovebox?
I'm in the market for a M240i (preferably '22) and need help with this interior option. Some interiors have the msport colors on the door and above the glovebox, while others don't.
I'm not a fan of the colors but would like an explanation of what's included/missing with the option? Are these colors part of a larger package? Ambient light differences? Anything else? I'll be buying a vehicle soon and am doing my DD. Thanks everyone! |

I have a 2022 model 230i and can confirm your picture is not a MY22. The illuminated trim for a 22 does not include above the glove box dash area. It does have the door card and what your picture shows was an option that had to be selected to get the M colors. The standard illuminated trim allows to select from a range of single color options, blue, red, purple, orange, white, green. I believe the M illuminated trim did not allow for any other variation. Other lighted areas are the foot wells, and door cup area.

It's the $200 "Illuminated M Trim" Package on the options tab before the summary when building the car online.

Are the Illuminated M Trim door cards available as a retrofit option? I've done some searching and can't seem to find anything. Sounds like perhaps I'm in the minority, but I'd actually prefer to have the Illuminated M door cards vs the base.

I think it's been asked before somewhere on these forums and the short answer is - no. It would require quite a bit of work and most likely not worth your coin.
