Removing emblems from matte / frozen paint
Hi everyone,
I know the general process for removing emblems... heat and dental floss, goo gone and polishing wheel... I wanted to remove the emblems from my frozen portimao M3, and both my detailer, and my PPF installer said not to do it. Or, more precisely, neither wanted to do it. They both claim that trying to get the glue residue off will leave scratches... and that it will be visible where the logo was before So, are they overthinking this, or? I'm a no-badge guy, and the 4 badges (or 8... with the "competition") are just too much for me... Thanks |

I just removed the xdrive badge. Fishing line to remove badge and 3m eraser wheel to remove double sided tape leftover on paint. No visible scratches left

You’re overthinking. I have frozen white and they come off with simple floss. Easy.

I have the exact same question...about the dark gray and doing this. Of course, on the lighter color, it wouldn't be very noticeable, but without being able to manually-agitate the reside, I'm afraid it will be left behind...OR the paint with get a little shiny in that spot by using any type of agitation to get it off.
Hopefully some more people will chime-in. |
