lol im so confused with the last few posts...
Anyway.....I have decided to go ahead with the front PPF. I have plenty of "before" shots so Ill take some similar angled "after" shots to show if there is any noticeable difference. I opted to go with stealth PPF as it wouldn't change the frozen color much if at all. |

I own a shop in Fresno ca that does Xpel Ppf. I can tell you it will not change the color of the frozen paint. If anything the film might have a different sheen or reflect like different then what the factory frozen paint does. On cars with frozen paint like on bmw and Mercedes we usually recommend doing full body. Not only for that reason but because this paint is so difficult to maintain. Ppf gives you some peace of mind. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Had a frozen grey Z4. I paid $4500 for almost the entire car PPF - full front, sides - and full ceramic coating.
Had to replace the hood piece after rock damage to the PPF- no paint damage. Absolutely saved the car from so much damage to the paint. Was it worth it for the frozen paint + PPF? Heck yeah! Car was absolutely flawless after everything I put it through over 11k miles. |

I ended up doing stealth PPF over gloss paint and I LOVE it. The shop that did it has worked on two of my other cars, and I've been in their bay when they're working on Ferraris and Bentleys. Their work is impeccable. You have to look extremely close to find even a hint that the car has PPF. Make sure your shop uses a high quality PPF. I have XPEL and it comes with a 10 year warranty. Take that $4500 frozen upcharge and put that towards full car PPF.
Frozen paint is a PITA to keep clean, not to mention to care for long term. Repainting anything will never look right. The stealth PPF is super easy. I just spray it down and use matte detailer in between hand washings. Looks flawless. |

Thank you! The installer came by yesterday and put a sample stealth PPF on the car to show me. Exactly as you said, makes zero difference in color. |

I had Suntek Stealth PPF on my front end and it matches perfectly. I’ve never walked up to my car and noticed a change in color/hue. Even under all types of different lighting. I can’t speak on Xpel Stealth as I didn’t have that installed. I know others say it matches well though. At least on frozen portimao blue. If you want to be 100% it’s perfect go get Suntek. Here’s a video of the install on my frozen brilliant white g82. Front end only. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1w5Q...dmaGZmMWJqYmx1 I’ll attach some photos too for you. 1000% get PPF.. I had so much anxiety those first two weeks driving around town without PPF. It wasn’t until after where I really started enjoying the car Let me know if you have any questions!! |

For gloss paints you can use solvent and polish the paint after but that isn't an option on a frozen painted car since it can't be polished. That means a repaint will be required if adhesive is left behind on PPF removal. I'm curious what your take is on this given that you install PPF for a living. |

I did PPF on the whole car due to maintenance worries. Washing is a breeze now. I also swapped the brake pads to some low-dust ceramics, and my wheels stay clean for a month or so now.
