Yes, I meant using the F80 rear on the G80 rear with your electronic parking brake caliper separate. Seems like the pad and brake bias might be similar if using the F80 rear.

I might buy a new set of F80 rear calipers and test it out.

Yes, availability and cost of the f80 calipers would be a challenge for me, i am used to selling 1-2 brake sets a week per platform (f85/f10/e70(f15) etc. it would immediately affect my production because i buy 19z sets in bulk 6-7 full sets at a time hence i get a good price on them, this wont be the case for f80 units. Definitely let us know if you can make f80 caliper fit and post some pictures, thanks !

That seems to be a gt4 caliper, same as used on m2 competition ccb , these calipers are made to work with 28mm rotor I believe , also see how far the pad sits on the disc, there gotto be a wider pad to use more rotor area im sure.

The f87 M2C 4-p caliper is identical to the f8x CCB 4-p caliper, correct? Trying to understand the pad options available for this caliper.

Check rotor thickness that they are made to work with, they are significantly wider, might need spacers for pads.

That’s where I was ultimately headed with this check but before saying anything I wanted to make sure I had the correct information. I was thinking there’s a not insignificant difference in rotor thicknesses. I’m not an expert on CCB rotor thickness and f87 2NH rotor thickness. I had the blue iron setup but converted to Essex/AP Racing early on. F8x CCB or f87c iron rear rotors are significantly thicker than g8x iron rear rotor. On paper it’s easy to pick out any caliber to work with any diameter rotor(s). Many try, most fail for many different reasons.

Also, you’re supposed to have existing caliper mounting brackets available for any caliper and any rotor (diameter, rotor offset and thickness) for any application. Most creators of retrofit kits don’t care, or don’t understand, the radial pad offset and maximizing swept area is important. There’s an extremely poorly designed kit (two actually) floating around on the e9x forum right now. From incorrect piston areas, to poor radial placement, to rotors hitting calipers…yet people buy these kits without asking basic questions such as where to purchase replacement rotors, what pad shapes/numbers are used and availability…

Could you send me a link to these e90 kits you mentioned, id love to see what they are up to, i am actually considering getting e90 set built for possibly 18” wheels using f80 rotors, but ran into a few light issues , still getting there sooner than later though

If the g80 CCBs are identical to the f80 CCBs (I believe they’re identical in diameter) and the 1-p sliding caliper is the same as the one used with the iron brake setup. So the f80 4-p caliper has a ~19% smaller piston area than the g80 1-p sliding caliper. This shifts the g80 CCB brake bias forward to 67.6%.

The question is do we need ISTA to bleed the brakes? Or can we just use a motive bleeder? I heard you can’t bleed the g80/82 using the traditional 2 man method cuz it throws all sorts of code.

This morning my daughter helped me to foot-bleed the brakes, and I just went for my first full drive after my test movements.

THESE THINGS STOP YOU REALLY GOOD.
When I slammed the brakes the front didn’t dive like usual, the braking feels balanced. It may be the new Dinan HAS that helped, but the stopping power feels great to me. I put new ISweep 2K pads in the rears, the fronts have them already and the stock rears did too before.

This weekend I do RaceMotive MIR so the brakes will get good tests slowing me from rolls at 150-160MPH.

Thank you for all you help Jimmy, i will give my cnc shop a go ahead to make a batch of these brackets, and will make an adjustment to the brake lines, otherwise I believe we should be good to go with these!
