So I'm about to pull the trigger on the m performance HAS.. the question I have is, I've seen some people report issues with noises.. steering wheel being off center before and even after alignment.. how common are these issues?

I want the benefits/look of the lowered car, but I don't want to deal with the headaches and potential drawbacks - is this stuff just luck of the draw, install related, is it all addressable if it does come up?

just torn between changing the ride dynamics of the car from factory which I don't have issues with and trading slightly lower ride height for a host of issues after dropping near 2500 after install

I'll add my 2 cents but I've just recently taken delivery of my car with the MP HAS. Although I haven't had it long, I haven't had any issues whatsoever. I've had a bunch of cars lowered on coilovers, springs, and bags. The drop from the MP HAS definitely improves the look of the car significantly. Even at the max drop, it's not super aggressive. Mine is maxed dropped and I'm not rubbing with 12f/15r spacers.

Lowering the car makes it more firm, planted, improves the handling, and the obviously the aesthetics. Having this all covered by your BMW warranty made it a no-brainer for me. It's definitely firm but that's what I love. I don't buy M cars because they're the most comfortable cars. Overall I can't see any cons except you need to be aware of speed bumps, steep driveways, etc. Having driven lowered cars for years, it's second nature for me.

I got my car at Christmas what port installed HAS and love it. It’s definitely more firm than stock. Looks great and overall ride quality is not a deterrent. I’ve had zero issues with noises or alignment issues. There are cheaper options, but I totally think it’s worth it for OEM peace of mind.

I have no drawbacks with installing mine at max lowered. The only drawback would the slightly firmer ride which I actually prefer. I always drive around in sports mode for the suspension setting. I believe the stock comp shocks are capable enough to handle the MPHAS for a reliable amount of time. I'm hoping that Bilstein comes out with a proper DDC coilovers set up, then I will forego the MPHAS for that

Not to derail the convo but any experience with MODE Concepts? They're based where you live and have a valve controller that I'm interested in. Any experience with them? Also, your name... Atmosphere?

I also have MP HAS kit installed at port. Best mod ever. Looks great, no issues at all, steering is centered, handles fantastic. Rides really well for a lowered car. Not harsh at all. Just planted. Damping works great. Plus it’s fully factory warranty.

Never used MODE concepts. Was going to purchase a few things from them but got better prices elsewhere.

My buddy got a MPHAS installed on his G87 M2 at Port. He loves it but he's not been able to get the steering wheel set straight. Two trips to the dealer. It's EVER so slightly off but he's just dealing with it.

Port installed HAS here as well- wry happy with 0 noise and my car was lowered all the way at the port by whoever installed it.

im not familiar with the performance HAS but the KW or H&R look better and will cost less than half of the cost.

I have the MP HAS and the only cons I've noticed are:

• Some squeaking noises when going over speed bumps.
• Slightly harsher ride quality, comparable to SPORT with stock springs.

Aside from that, it looks good and has held up well. With regards to performance, I highly doubt you'll notice any significant change. The car subjectively feels more planted on track to me with the MP HAS, but there has been no noticeable impact on laptimes.

Take this with a grain of salt but I had my journey down the HAS route and it was horrible for me and I will never go back unless it's a true coliover system. The car looked great but after over 2k in system, installation and alignment left a sour taste for me. I ended up going with Eibach springs. No more noisy suspension and binding springs and car doesn’t sound like a clunker.

10mm drop isn’t worth it for warranty. Buy 3 bags of stone for the trunk and date a fat girl for the same effect.

20mm is the max and now no longer warrantied. I have 20mm front springs and it looks oem+. I don’t consider my car lowered.

I’d be looking at other has options if you want a perfectly balanced drop or h&r super sports for the lowest drop before issues. AST for the absolute lowest drop, but potential noise or bounce issues.

I’m with @JDUNITNOW. I’ve had MSS HAS on my G82 for the past 2.5 years. The original setup without the Ben mod before they sent out all the new replacement front coils which still sit in my garage. Set up flat in front and 10 mm left in back. I’m also tired of the crashing over small bumps. Noises and steering wheel clunking going slow over speed bumps. I’m sure their will be paint rubbed off some of the coils. These are going in the trash before trade in and I am going with the Eibach for my MY25. I will miss the lower look than you can get compared with just lowering springs but not that much.

I’m surprised two of the posts are about suspension noise.
I installed mine myself and there is zero noise. Maybe their installation was done incorrectly.
The ride is firmer. But this isn’t my daily.
If it was it’s probably harsher than most would want day to day.
Ride height and wheel offsets are like debating politics. Just don’t.

MSS is a 3rd party kit right? Is it fair to compare that with the M Performance kit? No one is reporting noise, coils maxing out, clunking, or any issues. Who knows what springs MSS is using..
