Dravit, hope our paths cross in Richmond sometime! If your dealership in MD happens to be Catonsville, shoot me a PM. I'll be curious about your delivery experience since you will likely be taking delivery before I do.

I texted my SA because I will be travelling between 1/22 and 1/31 basically, saying that because it was arriving at port today I'm assuming I won't be taking delivery until after 1/31. He asked if the car is ready by Saturday if I could take delivery. I told him yes, but that I would rather things be done portside well rather than fast and that I can be patient if needed. Sounds like the turnaround could be pretty fast, with that said.

I'm connected with a handful of G8X owners on this forum who live in Richmond and meet up periodically when the weather is warmer. I'd be happy to give you a heads up when that happens.

I feel ya, when my car gets to the dealership I have it being transported to Va Beach for full XPel PPF, tint, KW HAS Kit. I’m looking at installing NW Carbon Haus Front Lip, V3 Grill, Side Skirts, Side Badges, Rear diffuser extensions to go along with my OEM CF. Can’t wait to complete the CF look although I steered away from the CF seats. I sat in a M4 CS a couple months ago that had CF seats and it just wasn’t screaming “I need this”. 😂🤓

My tentative plan is to show up at the dealership with a LOT of painters tape and going to town with that so I don't get any rock chips on the way home on 95. The car will go right to Capital Autobahnd here in Richmond for tint, PPF and ceramic while I'm out of town on another work trip if the timing works out.

Looks like the Donington has left Baltimore en route to South Carolina, which means our cars are now at the BMW facility at the dock being checked before they make the journey to the dealership. It's more than likely that most, if not all of you are able to take delivery before me so keep us posted!

Yeah, there’s a process at the port where the vehicle is moved to a building BMW operates and someone inspects the car to ensure that all is well and damage didn’t occur during shipment, etc. Also some “port side” changes occur there, so if you added certain minor extras those can be added at that stage like wheel locks, for example.

Update from my SA. I’m on a plane now and will be out of state until the middle of next week so I won’t be picking up until the 31st at the earliest anyway.

My rep said I was checked in 1/20 (Saturday), BMW Genius is saying estimated dealer delivery is 1/26, subject to change. online it says I'm still at port. So online is clearly delayed at updating.
