After starting this thread I eventually found the setting to make the radio turn off when the door is opened. And I finally got lane assist to turn off! |

Proximity lock…I have it half on like you, but opposite. Proximity unlock only. Locking? I’m either hitting the button to close the trunk at work. Or just pressing the door when walking away is easy. But having the car light up and unlock as I walk up is soooo nice. And convenient not to have to do a slight pause opening the door to wait for the unlock.

I hate how the trunk doesn't open all the time when I press the button on the trunk. Either it doesn't work the first 3 times or i have to wait 10 seconds for the car to wake up. Garbage. My 21 year old e46 opens immediately every time.

I always noticed the opposite on my M3, when I was trying to close it. If I didn’t get my items out of there within a short manner and tried to use the button to close it, it would take several presses to get the car to “wake up” and then start to close. Noticed this just about every time I would pick up the groceries and have to make several trips back into the house to unload them. Never had much trouble with the opening of the trunk though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Interesting - my previous M550i would literally yank the wheel out of my hands with the slightest of lane drifts, but I don’t find my G82 to be anywhere near as obtrusive (both were/are set to the middle level of sensitivity).

With the M4 convertible, top down, no passenger, the way the seat belt latch get buffered by wind, causing it to bang on the back of the seat. First world problems

I really want different gauges. I wish BMW would have another configurable option for classic round BMW-font gauges. So many of us would have really appreciated that. Oh well, a missed opportunity.

Have you tried using the wind screen? I thought I didn't mind the buffeting in the car until I tried it and it reduced a lot of even general noise by a noticeable amount. I'd give it a try.

I agree with you on this one. Mercedes got this one down as you can change the gauges with 8 different styles.

Agree with the Pontiac digital dash. That’s my #1. Wish I had a replica of my e46 cluster. That was perfect. I mean the tach “needle” with the fake bounce when shifting (2021 manual G80), seriously?
I coded out the ASD. That was my clear #1 before. And this one is me: I honestly can’t tell a difference in the suspension between any of the settings. Maybe I don’t have the right roads anywhere. That said, I’m buying her out of the lease in a few weeks so ignore all of the above: I love this thing!

Oh and I’m grateful for still having buttons. Feel bad for you ID8 guys (flamesuit on). The one and only reason for not getting a new one and buying my 21 instead, is ID8. It’s also why I won’t upgrade my GF’s Mk7.5 GTI to the MK8.

I cannot understand how much it would have taken to display the battery voltage. It is, after all, a digital display and there is still plenty of space. Due to the small capacity of the Lithium battery battery monitoring the battery voltage is a concern. I had the battery go completely dead once and had the low battery warning another when I started the car. Kind of too late at that point if it had gotten a little lower.
I will add that with the M4 the rear window angle is so steep that it is nearly impossible to clean all of the rear window (at the rear most edge). |

The front brake caliper looks like a high performance part!
The rear brake caliper, annoyingly, does not. |

Same thing with closing. Either takes forever, or just doesn't do it. It's rather embarrassing in the grocery store parking lot when you're standing there like an idiot trying to get the trunk to close! |
