825 or 826 wheels?
Whats the consensus on the OEM rims of choice for the M3 Touring/Sedan?
What are most of you gone with when ordering? I like the 825s a bit more if only because I feel like I never see them, everyone goes for 826. Is that accurate, do most of you guys went 826 and the consensus is those are the nicer wheels that suit the car better?

After living with my 826s for 33 months, minus two years of having 963Ms on the car during non-Winter months, there's no way I'd order a car with them.
They look nice when they're clean and the light is just right but they're so dark that they just disappear on the car most of the time. I know a couple of people have powder coated them and they look MUCH better than stock black. If nothing else, the 825s look easier to clean. |

I went with the 825's as I liked that they made the dish look a little more pronounced to me. At first I wanted them because I wanted gray wheels, not black or bicolor, and that's the only choice. But then I didn't like the Orbit Gray had the alternate colored lip, so then I was looking at the bicolors. It wasn't until after someone posted that they diamond cut their 826's that I realized (and someone confirmed) that the polished portion of the 825's is brighter than the polished portion of the 826's. Had no idea of that but in retrospect it's easy to spot in pictures. And I'm very glad, I love the way they pop against the black trim. I think if you're going for a carbon fiber heavy build, the 826's might be a better match, finish wise. And black wheels. As the poster above said, I just don't get them. They make all the detail disappear. Taste is subjective but that is a fact...the black hides detail and makes them look less pronounced. At the end of the day, I knew what color I wanted and went through the gallery of that vehicle's color, saved a bunch of pictures of wheels in all the combos and even got them with the different brake caliper colors and just looked until I decided which I prefer. Would suggest doing the same. Oh, and I thought the 825's would suck to clean but they actually aren't that bad. With a wheel wolly, a finger mit and a brush you can clean them quite quickly. They aren't as finicky as the RS Spyder wheels that I've been (un) fortunate enough to own on our Porsches. LOL. |

True, but they are still way too dark IMHO. As you said, the polished surface of the 826Ms is darker compared to the 825M. In addition, the spokes are much narrower and therefore the polished parts aren't expressed enough. I don't understand why they made the bi-color version of the 826Ms so dark when there is already a black version for the people who want very dark wheels.
That's why I had to powdercoat my 826Ms. |

I think the 826s look great, I just wish wish you could get them in more color options.
Personally not a fan of black wheels but I optioned them because the alternative would be too similar to Davit grey. Bronze or brushed aluminum would be nice options.

So it sounds like most prefer 826, and the 826 is the only option if you go for the CCBs which partially boosts it. 825 is the more rare one, gut feel was correct.

The 826‘s are just perfect imo. They look classy and sporty at the same time 😁 also i thnk they are more concave than the 825‘s.
