If you want the best dashcam in the market I would go Nextbase 622GW, I had it for multiple years now and it never disappoints, 4K UHD images, has parking mode, voice control through Alexa, image stabilization, location sharing, you can add or remove time and speed and location, SOS, defogging mode, its always recording never misses any motions, it’s great at every feature. I believe it’s on Amazon now both rear and front cam for $435.

Some reviewers complained about the unit overheating and dying often and others complained that the unit required proprietary memory cards. Have you experienced any of these?

I have never had an issue overheating or dying often that’s weird probably had a defected product. I did have to get a micro sd card of 256 GB if you want to save everything. But it’s an excellent product check reviews.

Did you just buy a generic micro sd?

I am using this camera and I love it. Easy to install, the app works great, motion notifications, plug and play. Zero complaints

Did you install it yourself, or have a shop do it?

Myself. Not hard wired but routed the power cable under the trim around the headliner, A pillar, etc to plug into the center console power outlet at the cup holders. Bimmertech plastic trim tools helped pry rubber trim back without actually removing anything or damaging the trim/rubber.

If the center console power method is too obtrusive - for example if you like to use the cup holder retractable cover all the time, I'd look into hard wiring it but IDK how or where to look for that info.

I have a rear sunshade in my car, will that inhibit me from having a rear camera with the BlackVue series?

FYI. The FitMax does not fit properly in a 24 G82. At least not version C which is what the company said I needed. Looks like they may have changed the way the rear view attaches to the windshield for 24. There are two long pins that are part of what lock the sides of the FitMax together. These will not connect as the mirror mount is in the way. I got it to fit by removing those 2 pins but the 2 half’s still won’t close completely It works fine but the fact that there is a tiny gap between the half’s is going to drive my OCD crazy. I’ve decided to return it. I’m also disappointed with the build quality as the camera was not even mounted in the shell. It just floats loosely inside.
