You’re right, The Ring is a big track…but the Tesla will still embarrass these cars at Willow Springs or Laguna.

Fact is that tesla needs 1000 bhp just to keep up with the G80 on Nring
Imagine if it had only 500 bhp, total obliteration; oh, wait, model 3 performance has 500, and ring time 7:44

Fact is MSP is objectively better at straight-line acceleration, cornering (as opposed to your original claim), and braking distance. Cope.

Nope ; what it gains at straight line acceleration it losses at cornering, hence the same Nring time as the M4;

Limegrntaln Its a big fat pig and there is no replacement for weight even with 1000 plus hp and tq. I like mine but its never gonna be my only car as Ive stipulated here over and over but the sheer speed is exponentially faster and as an owner of many prior fast and currently fast cars, its still fun to own even if the depreciation is horrific.

Well, if you refuse a logic argument then let’s ended here;

I've owned a bunch of bimmers (2x Z4, 1M, M3 xDrive) so while I am partial to BMWs, but hope they can up their game more. As for now it's Porsche & Tesla in the garage. |

But stop saying it can't turn. You probably haven't even ever driven one. You state about refuting an argument but you haven't offered anything other than a Ring time and stating, falsely, that it can't turn. Can it turn as well as an M3? No. Is it still capable? Yes. I have a buddy that has owned multiple Tesla, also owns a Taycan. In addition has 992 Turbo S, just picked up a 992 RS, has owned 991 and 997 GT3 and GT3 cup. Has done multiple track days at Laguna, COTA,Buttonwillow, etc, is an instructor and has done Porsche experience driving in Iceland, NRring, Spain, and done dirt fish. I trust his opinion WAY more than yours. He has tracked all his Tesla and his Taycan. His verdict that Plaid was an absolute game changer except the brakes were an absolute disaster on the track. His race prep shop owner who races part time agrees. Said it's incredible what the instant torque and the tri motor vectoring can do. The brakes have been solved at this point, obviously. Is it a perfect track car? No. Neither is his Taycan. But he regularly embarrasses the crap out of people in GT3's in it. |

Thank you!!! That’s all I was saying! Apart for this the Tesla is a very capable car.

Tell me you've never driven an EV without telling me you've never driven an EV. To answer your question, why wouldn't you? There is NO more precise form of automotive propulsion than EV. People go gaga for NA vs. Turbo yet EV absolutely smokes them both for responsiveness vs. your right foot. My buddy above with all the track experience loves surprising the hell out of "better" track cars in his Taycan. He has converted many drivers to wander over in the paddock / garage for a discussion after he's absolutely housed them coming out of corners and disappeared down the straight. The challenges are twofold: brakes and power longevity / overheating. When he first tried his early Teslas, they couldn't last a lap at Laguna without going into limp mode. Now his Taycan will last most of a 20 minute session before it overheats. When Porsche brings out the GT version of the Taycan (they are, it has been spotted testing) they will have fully solved these issues. Coupled with DCFC at the track and it's a very enjoyable way to experience it. |

10000% concur and I am one of the few here that has the G80X and a Plaid. Everyone thinks the steering should be same with one car weighing over 1000lbs more than the other. Yes the Tesla steering can be better but the expectations and apples vs oranges comparos continue here. I dont think many have really really driven one yet alone, owned a Plaid. The new track mode pack changes the game in regards to self comparisons. I will never take the Plaid steering and put it up against the G80X or dare my 992 GTS but instead have to weigh (no pun) the improvements against itself. In the real world, non Ring, non circuit, Ill rip the heads of alot of cars and listen to a very nice 22 speaker system. Then come and drive the V10 R8 or the flat 6 992 or the G80X or the M8 or blah blah blah and be very fucking blessed

A well resolved EV makes a HELL of a daily driver. Emotion factor is low but not absent. Precision and raw speed have their own emotion factor. Plus being a d!ckbag in traffic silently has it's rewards. |

Whats interesting is that you mention emotion and "personally" the exponential increase in inertia with the Plaid and the ability to tq my way around curves is semi pleasing A model 3 wont give me that nor would a 130 mph trap EV but 150mph trapping and mid 4 sec 60-130 car is clearly worlds different.
