I was where you are today on August 9th of last year.
Waited 6 months just to get an allocation on February 4th. Car was built March 24th and is expected to arrive at the port in NYC on May 1st. Hoping to have it by the end of next week.

If I were to do it again, I'd make a list of every dealer around a 50-100 mile radius and call for an allocation. If they don't have one ask them to give you a call when they do. Don't agree to put down a deposit for any of them. Just give them your name and phone number. I did this in late January after almost 6 months of waiting and no allocation. I called about 40 dealers and I received several calls about allocations in the next 2 months but my turn had already come at my local dealer.

If you don't want to wait, you have to be proactive and chase it. You can't just sit and hope for them to give you an allocation. There is also the broker route but that's extra $$$.

FWIW:
Put my name down for an M3 at my dealer 8/5/21.
Got my allocation 7/18/22 (11+ months).
Went into production 8/1/22.
Completed production 8/4/22.
Took delivery 9/22/23 (East coast).

From what I’ve been reading, doesn’t seem like the wait for M3 allocations is quite as bad now as it was in mid-2021 thru mid-2022 but depending on the dealer, the wait could still be significant.

I think BMW anticipated the M4/M3 ratio to be way higher than demand ended up being.
That’s why M4 allocations are more plentiful than M3 allocations.

Thanks - how do I find out what week I'm production? Don't think it says anywhere, unless I didn't look hard enough.

Yep easiest to call BMW geneuis give them ur production number and they will tell you.
But given that u are MY23 and there is not much time left u must be last week which is 26. I believe most people in weeks before u already turned to “Production starts” which is status 150.
