Really interesting. Took delivery in March 2022 of a M4 Comp AWD and no gesture control. BMW told me when i asked it was not in the cars for Australia. Just checked the spec sheet and not listed.

Keen to get everyone's view on this then. I just received my build spec sheet for my upcoming G80 Competition xDrive. The following features are missing from my build (all of which are listed as standard on the current Aussie spec guide):
3DK BMW Digital Key (you apparently need this for the iPhone digital key to work)
465 Through-loading system (this is the folding seats)
4UR Ambient light (interior lighting colours)
610 BMW Head-Up Display (I think this may be included by default with iDrive 8)

Do others have these and if so, can you tell if it was on our respective build sheets and/or if you search for your VIN on mdecoder.com ?

Interesting. It would be a no starter for me without interior lighting and heads up display. Digital key who cares if you have comfort access.

I’d pull out of this deal. Your car’s spec would be closer to an M2 and you’ll cop it when it comes to resale value

I'd say the digital key is a must. The convenience of leaving the house with just the house key / garage fob, and simply using the mobile phone is nice. It'll take a bit to get used to it, - but once you do - you wouldn't think twice about using it, unless you want the car unlocked before reaching it - which is when you'd want the regular key. With the digital key - phone, you'll need to unlock your phone / wallet - tap the handle to unlock the car, and place it in the charging tray to start the car. I'd be surprised if that doesn't become the norm in the coming 5-10 years across all car manufacturers!

I agree completely.

Can you guys do me a favour and check your respective build sheets either from when your car was built (what your dealer gave you) or on mdecoder.com?

Let me know if any of the above codes are present/missing from your builds.

I think given my car is a brand new allocation with a production slot, I think it's a genuine mistake as all of these options are standard on our Aussie G80 Competition models. It's a week 6 2023 build so I have time to get the dealer to fix it but want to see if it's just a case that these options don't show up anymore. iDrive 8 could be the reason for example.

Are you thinking of the display key? That's optional.

However the BMW Digital Key, which is a feature to use your phone to unlock and start the car, is standard on all M3 variants.

Ah yes that's correct. I was thinking of the display key. Checked my VIN on the mdecoder.com and none of the options that you mentioned showed up for mine too

I have a Week 38 build G80 M3 xdrive comp on order
