The AWE is money, and I love how it integrates with the drive modes so you can easily run it quiet if needed

I would honestly say do the opposite first, because the single midpipe completely changes the tone of the exhaust. You should first decide if you like the tone, then perhaps make it louder. At least IMO

I have a video of a guy here that has Mad catless Downpipes on the AA single midpipe. Perfect angle on the car when he accelerated. You can hear it under load and going through a couple gears. However I do not have the video uploaded anywhere lol. I'll throw it on my Instagram and send you the link.

No idea what the catted downpipes sound like. I will be doing this exact setup except with the resonated version of the AA single midpipe. And I'll be unlocking the DME and won't have to deal with check engine lights.

You guys realize that catless downpipe on today's cars may cause overboost and cause the throttle valve to partially shut and pull timing? This is Inherent to small quick spooling turbos of today where as years ago larger turbos were used thus more lag.
It's interesting that many years ago, power gains were mostly discussed when talking about downpipes and exhausts. But now it's almost all about sound. |

Small quick spooling turbos are not really new, unless you're comparing to 20 years ago. And if you want to make big power then you still want to remove restriction in the exhaust. Just need some sort of tune because the ECU is too smart these days and tries to make consistent power. |

I remember a catless downpipe on my old evo ix's, wrx, sr20det, srt4, etc. there was at least 20-30 hp gain with quicker spool and no issues with overboosting, unless I installed a bleeder valve or an electronic boost controller and went too aggressive. But that was mitigated by mechanical internal adjustable wastgates whereas todays cars are electronically controlled. |
