I brainstormed a new midpipe mod while trying to fall asleep
There's two versions of it, from mild to wild and still allows you to have neighborhood friendly stock sound.
Basically it involves the area behind the exhaust valve to bypass the muffler.

Version 1 is mild, have an exhaust shop cut a hole in the area behind the exhaust valve and weld a downward facing pipe so part of the exhaust flows under the muffler.
Version 2 is wild, cut that small section off after the valve and block off the muffler, weld a downward facing pipe so all the exhaust flows under the muffler

If you have a valve controller and do version 2 you basically have a muffler delete when the valve is open, this should sound pretty wild. If you don't have a valve controller and use the stock valve which partially opens the flap it should sound louder than stock, and if you close the valve everything goes through the muffler again and your neighbors love you

So it seems like removing the secondary cats and first resonators is the way to go with stock down pipes. You have two options from there, A) have a shop do custom work or B) buy a mid-pipe from AA / PSI?

It seems the preferred is the single pipe correct? If so in deleting the secondary cats is the car going to smell terrible?

If I recall correctly after trying to read 10 pages of this stuff, you just had your secondary removed, and kept your x pipe resonator?

I'm not far from Newark so I could make that work.

Edit - now I'm confused, for some reason I thought inked customs was a shop. What the heck is inked customs? Link?

It is a one man shop that does custom work in Germany.

Yeah he's just @inkedcustom

Idk what it is about the way his pipe is built but if I drive around in efficient and partial throttle through the gears the sound between 3k-5k is absolutely addicting.

Even my woman who is not a car person whatsoever said and I quote "wow it sounds so exotic now"

I'm not sure if you know what it sounds like when two things harmonize or why it happens, but if I drive next to a gt3 at the same rpm's the harmonic effect is nuts.

Does the secondary cats become the bottle neck restricting the exhaust flow?

Anyone have done a secondary cats with a high flow carted DP combination?

If I do secondary Cats and first resonator delete combined with my other Mods does the car become too loud or too much drone.

This thread is making me confused so many combinations between the DP, Secondary cats , First and second resonator deletes and valves. X pipes and H pipes and ….

Can someone with true knowledge separate the performance and sounds benefits of each mod. And how much each mod add to the sound or performance.

Secondary cats delete ? Performance gain, and how much % sound gain

First resonator I heard 5-10% sounds increase

Seems that most believe in leaving the secondary resonator as it have a OEM X pipe built in and removing it without replacing it with an X pipe will not be a good mod to do.

Thanks

lol --- I think I've starrted going through this thread 15 or so times and each time I come away with a different opinion! At first, it was "just delete the resonators, it's cheap". Then, "no, it sounds too raspy". every time I dive into this thread I come away more confused.

My goal is to stay within CA emissions (if possible), with more, but not obnoxious, sound. Something close, but not louder, than a Jag F-Type. And I don't want to spend more than a few k. Is it as simple as a Valvetronice midpipe and call it a day?

The only problem with Vtronic is they seem to have fitment issues paired with bad customer service
