I'm ordering 826M in Black once my allocation opens up. As far as tires Pirellis are terrible, I've had them on multiple cars from the factory. They're terrible in the rain and don't nearly grip as hard as the Michelins.

Joking aside, I'm sure some people can who are very experienced drivers, but for your average driver the 'tire lottery' is a load of bull shit |

Now that a lot more people in this group have got their cars, wanted to give this thread a bump to encourage new owners to vote and see how the wheel choice and tire lottery was panning out.
Based on the pics that have been posted the heavy bias to 826's doesn't surprise me, but the 60/40 Pirelli/Michelin split was not what I was expecting. Also, would be curious to know how many selected the 824's... but they weren't in the poll.

Got Pzero on my week 7 build . Replaced them before runnin' service because the car was vibrating . Bought Conti Sport Contact 7 . Great performance tyres (best tires i've ever had) and guess what. After 700 miles they already have flat spots and after 100 mph my steering wheel is "dancing". So , the only real option is Michelin PS4S .

I wonder if everyone that got CCB's in their G8X's got Michelin. If so I should be winning the lottery at the end of the month when I get my G82C.

I ordered the 826 bi-color and got the Pirelli's. I put All-Seasons on my car and am selling my set for $800 (plus shipping). Only 18 miles on them. I live in the Chicago suburbs if anyone is interested.

That's an interesting idea - just swapping all-seasons from the get go rather than swap wheel/tire winter-to-summer and vice-versa every season. Shame because the car comes with summer performance but Chicago weather can change 7 times a week and this will be a DD.

I was emailing Jonathan Benson, from the YouTube channel TyreReviews, the other day. BMW had 8 separate test loops with 30 different compounds per axle, to come up with the Michelin Star marked tires that come on our cars. I asked if he could planned on testing the Pirellis, against each other or the Pirellis against the Michelins, and…
Here's what he said.
