So the car I wanted was going to be individual San Marino blue. This car became available at the dealer so I jumped on it. This color is my favorite part about the car. Its super dynamic in different lighting and the first compliment I get about the car is the color. I realllly like TBII but I always felt it was too dark for this model.

We finally had a sunny weekend day here in NJ, so I snapped a few in the mid-morning sun. IMHO, this is where Portimao really shines. (Pun intended.). It has an unusually high amount of metallic flake for a BMW, and it really glistens. The silvery metallic flakes shine through at oblique angles, really enhancing the character lines on the car.

Looks awesome. I have my PB coming to NJ soon. What did you do with the front license plate?

I installed it on the OEM bracket, because I'm the guy that'll get tickets if I don't have it.

STO N SHOW is a really good option for front plates too. Takes 2 minutes to install the bracket with OEM bumper screws and 5 seconds to put the plate on and off

Did the dealer drill into the bumper and mount the license plate and that’s what you used for the sto n sho?

No the STO N SHOW is installed under the bumper. There's two OEM screws holding the bumper in place. You remove those two screws, slap the STO N SHO bracket on, and then re-install the screws. Super easy

For me, there was also an esthetic plus to Sto N Sho; it moves the front plate from right in the middle of the grille to lower. I installed the bracket but don't have plates yet -- still on temp tag -- but worry a bit that the lower position may make the plate more vulnerable to scraping/damage....

I don't run the plates (only put them on for annual state inspections), but I do keep the bracket installed. I haven't had an issue yet with speed bumps or anything

Mesmerizing! One of the most beautiful pictures I've seen. Truly amazing!!!

How much does this cost (if you don't mind sharing)?

Ty! They sure took fancier than any pictures I can take

That shop was advertising a special of $5k for full PPF + 5 yr ceramic. It's a precut so they didn't do any custom wrapping (I requested that they didn't disassemble any parts, anyway), but it came out well. There's a bit of lifting on the front grill and hood but they have me scheduled for a free touch-up next week.

Looking around the cosmetic maintenance forum, it looks like $5-6k seems average for full PPF, though I bet it depends a lot on the local market, too.

I look at this photo of my car and I can’t help but admire all the visible lines and characteristics. You do not get anything overpowered by the paint nor distracted by shine.
I think this color is the perfect amount of dark/light to bring out the beauty

Very nice! Is that Frozen paint or a PPF wrap?
