Just put in an order for a TBII G80 6MT. Doing extended tartufo + CF trim for interior, black brake calipers and bi-color 826s with the exterior carbon package.

My dad had an E39 M5 in carbon black and a Lexus GS300 Sportdesign that had a beautiful caramel/light brown interior. He always liked a powerful, understated sedan and while the G80 styling is more aggressive than his cars ever were, I liked the idea of trying to build something that looked reasonably subtle but with so much power underneath.

Looks terrific. The shot looking down on the hood really captures the deep blue present in Tanzanite, which is what I love most about the color. Seems most here are blown away by San Marino, which is completely understandable, but I prefer the subtle, modest, yet profound power of TB!

I think I have my build almost fully nailed down - G80 6MT in TBII w/ full tartufo interior, bi-color 826s, laser lights and carbon fiber exterior package and extended shadowline trim (which I think just gives me the black chrome exhaust tips). I am really struggling with which brake caliper color to go with. I had red calipers on my AW E92 M3 and for whatever reason I didn't love it, but now I am struggling with what to choose on this car. I think I am leaning black as I am hoping for more of a sleeper/grown up look with this car, but would love to hear other people's thoughts on how they decided...

I went with red calipers as well, as blue ones might have clashed (a 'near miss'); besides, there's always the taillights with which red ones match.

Funny, I have a very similar build detailed here, and have been wondering about caliper color as well. I have just about settled on blue though. As luckylingy says, there is the concern of a blue "mismatch" - the calipers are a lighter shade than Tanzanite. I think the blue looks pretty good on the Tanzanite F80 in that thread.

Black calipers are more subtle, but I personally don't like them with the bi-color wheels. They are better with all black 826s - check out the Tanzanite M3 in this thread.

Red calipers are more flashy. I was considering Fiona Red, and probably would have gone all-in with red calipers with that interior.

With the carbon fiber exterior package, extended shadowline is a must!

No wrong choices though. I think deciding is half the fun.

Since it's a known fact the red calipers make any car faster, that's what I went with. I think they look good with TB II, too.

Thanks for this detailed response (and for everyone else who responded as well). Just spent the last hour going back through this thread and looking at every photo/video). I think I'm going to stand pat with black - gold (CCBs) is definitely the best looking color but I don't track enough to make it worth the 8K. Blue looks great in some photos and then I question it in others, and same with red, especially since I've had them before (even though it was on a different color car) and didn't love them. At least with black, I can feel philosophically consistent re: my goal of a grown up/sleeper look. And worst case I'll go buy a BBK when they come out and get what I really want, Brembo yellow

Went to the dealership today and confirmed that I want to stick with black calipers, feel happy with my decision. Did decide to add the Shadowline lights, though - I had thought it might look too tinted out in person but comparing the chrome eyebrow to the shadowline lights I felt like the shadowline lights look like how the lights should have come from the factory, and I think will mesh better with the darker color TBII. Now to play the waiting game...

I ordered Shadowline lights on my CA's recommendation ("I won't let any of my clients order without that option, unless they insist," said she.). Shapiros, I'm confident you'll like the look; I know I did.

Took it back and had it checked today and it's fine, there are no shipping blocks in there - must just be the way the pics look and the springs need to drop slightly!

Already got my eyes on a set of Eibach's and spacers though!
