Drag Strip Tires

I was wondering if any of you has taken your g8x to the drag strip and what tires and sizes are using for better time sheets. Currently using Nankangs ar1 305/30/20 not bad but could be better.

Those ar1's are a road racing/track day tire with stiff sidewalls. Not really designed for drag racing. If you are more focused on drag racing you should check out nitto's drag radials.

The nt555rII's come in a variety of sizes that would work.

Hey@ggelpi did the 305/30/20 fit on the stock rims without issue? No rubbing etc?

I had to take out the 15mm spacers, without spacers the fit perfectly!

Like others have said, this is a sticky road tire. You'll want a softer sidewall for drag. Check out Mickey Thompson ET street S/S or Nitto drag radials.

I already checked but those tires are rarely on 295 or 305 for 20" inches wheels

What you will be looking for will be similar to 18158 from Hoosier. 18 inch 28 inches tall 10 inches wide. You are going to have to go down in diameter from 20's.

The nitto drag radials come in 285/35/19. You could run these on the stock 19" wheels that are used on the front. The overall height/diameter would be the same as the michelin's on the stock 20" wheels but you get a slightly taller side wall. I may give these a try.

And these are the 826M?
I'm shocked 305's fit as on the 666's it's 295 max on the rears.

Also getting a sized down rim and bigger sidewall and running some lower pressures will likely give you better grip

So I ordered 2 of these, dirt cheap worth it https://momo.com/en-us/momo-rf-serie...ara-black.html

Going to run a 20mm spacer with a set of m/t street s/s 285/35 19 just for this season. Will get me into rmrw.

Don't even need a 20mm spacer 12 works just fine. Barrel clearance is close but it'll be okay. Went with those tires as I got a good deal, now for the first passes.
