Yet another entertaining, informative video from CarWow.

Will it influence the buying decision of G80 buyers? Perhaps not. But the decision to test both vehicles in nearly similar colors was quite brilliant.

Giulia is outdated. I don't care what kind of modification or improvements it gets. I will take G80 any day.

A 4 door car without back seats? Costs almost 2x more than the M3 and performance is very similar? Yeah, the choice is clear.

Obvious point is obvious, but this test would be far more appropriate against a G8X CS or CSL. $225k and it beats a standard M3C by only 0.5s? That's fairly unimpressive.

Not a fan at all of the civic gq but damn the gtam version just nails it for me all cf dolled up and engine hardware hardened. If they just updated the headlights with some more modern led signatures it'd make such a massive diff.

Well done Fiat group.

M4 CSL should be a fair bit faster than the GTAm considering a M3 Comp model is barely slower.

Love the video, that Alfa is gorgeous... comparison is great even though those versions will be rarely cross-shopped.

The Alfa is RWD so naturally they picked a RWD M3.

But very impressive showing for the Bimmer given how it actually competes with the regular Giulia QV, not the QV GTAm. I'd imagine a G80 CS will come eventually. That will be the super sedan to end all super sedans.

This rabbit hole of numbers is very toxic. Some Tesla fanboy could easily trash on the M3 with the same price + objective performance argument. In reality car enthusiasts love certain cars because of they way they feel to drive.

In every M3 vs Giulia QV test the cars have essentially put up the same numbers, but the Giulia still wins the comparison test at the end of the day despite having a last-gen interior/tech and reliability quabbles. There's a reason why.

I'm in the minority - even here at bimmerpost, but I love the G80/82 design. Way prefer it over the Alfa. The GTAm looks good, don't get me wrong, but the M3 looks in a different class, in my opinion.

I'm not here to trash on the M3 at all. I just don't understand the irrational hate for Alfa here on Bimmerpost. This is not a slight at the M3 specifically, but BMW as a brand drifted away from its core values in many respects. Somebody else came entered the market and produced a special car to drive. What's to hate about that? Competition is good, that's BMW made the G80 a much better car than the F80 was.

Relax, no one is hating Alfa. I merely posted a link. I just don't understand the irrational hate for BMW here on Bimmerpost . I would also ignore the American car magazines - they are generally extremely simplistic, yet highly subjective and opinionated. C&D is especially bad in that regards. Same applies to German car magazines where German cars can't lose a comparison (get a "Blackwing treatment"). Disclaimer: I'm German living in US.

The 0-60 run of the M3 was flawed though. Mat himself did a 3.6s before. Guess that was on purpose.

Tbh, if a proper driver had been in both we'd have a better idea of the difference. Plus same tyres.

Matt did what? 48.1 round there in M3? Steve Sutcliffe had the G80 RWD complete it in 43.9 and Guila road car with same driver 44.4 on same track.

Id be disappointed if my GTA m with all its track focus'd mods was only a fraction quicker than a rapid road car round a track.

The Xdrive would quite probably sneak the win here, timewise
