I would assume a big recall is coming my car falls in between those dates so I guess I'm affected. What is the next step?

I'm build week 27. Just checked US and UK sites and no current recall on either one for VIN on my G80.

They will all be affected once failures start or defects are recognized with earlier production models...

It surely sucks, but don't be surprised.

I just got notified by my SA that there is an engine stop sale on my M3 xdrive as well (was built at the end of July).

Below is the communication he received from BMW. He said he wasn't sure if it's more of an inspection issue or an actual "fix"

I dodged yet another bullet. I’m a week 29 car and no recalls/stop sales/ticking time bomb….yet.

I was originally week 37 and got pushed to week 41 around right around the time of this recall. I wonder if this had something to do with it. My car just got assigned a vin this week, I ran it through the UK site and it shows no open recalls… looks like I may have lucked out with my delay

Finally got ahold of BMW, my stop sale was due to track mode not being displayed, it was resolved this afternoon and car is greenlighted. I was within the build date listed so it seems its only certain vehicles in that range and not all vehicles within that range affected by the crankshaft bearing failure.

Same and same. I'm going to keep checking the recall sites for a bit to be sure though.

So does mine, but nothing on US site yet.

We just need to wait for more information, no use in worrying about what it is/isn't until we learn more.

But at first blush, yeah, this doesn't seem like a small deal.

I have had the RAM stop sale for 7 weeks and when I enter my VIN on the website (UK and US) I don't see it on there. I also don't see the engine stop sale. Anyone know what's going on with that? Does that mean my stop sale was fixed?

Of course they won't replace engines. They will replace the defective bearings. Sucks that BMW can't figure out these bearing issues after so many iterations.

Did you check the dev tool? I think it will show vin status as closed if it's resolved. Thanks kjx for the instruction at https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1865007

Congrats! And thanks for this data point. It looks like this UK recall site is updated in real-time and is a quick and easy way to know if your stop sale is resolved.
