Sort of feel the instructional videos should be moved to the general forum. It seems people are asking about launch control and other items daily which the "episodes" help address fairly well. Videos/photos is typically the place for more subjective/ visual/ irrelevant content.

A day late and dollar short, BMW.. But thanks for the new feature, nonetheless..
Smoky burnouts in a manual RWD BMW doesn't take much skills; you just need an open road, a left leg and lots of money for rear tires and clutches.. Edit: Oh snap, I just realize there is no manual handbrake to properly lock up the rear wheels, on the new vehicles, hence the reason for this new auto-hold burn out feature.. 🤨🤨🤨 |

interesting tidbit in the Q+A that AWD cars are going to launch in first gear where the rwd cars launch in 2nd to manage traction..... considering the RWD times the AWD cars are going to be really quick

It's tragic that the manual handbrake is out the door. I'm guessing the electronic handbrake wouldn't allow for such debauchery, like the ability of locking/modulating the rear wheels, to allow for some gnarly tire burning.. #TheComputerSaidNo |

If you're taliking about kick starting a drift using the handbrake, that is another thing and not a burnout.

Maybe I just worded incorrectly but I use the handbrake on a RWD to slightly control the rear wheel spin, inducing a spinning real wheels, when it overwhelm with heavy throttle input, then locking it up with the foot brakes. Maybe I'll look into a Line lock kit. Regardless, the manual handbrake will be sorely missed, RIP ⚰️ |

So when you release the brake for the launch, do you keep your foot on the accelerator? When you let go of the accelerator, does it stop the launch, or do you need to press the brake?

I assume the ZF8 AT sequence to activate launch control will also work on my F95 ZCP?

It's interesting that it seems the manual launch control somewhat simulates "no lift shift" for the 1-2 gear change, even though it says to still release the accelerator pedal for the shift. It seems that even with the accelerator pedal lifted, the computer keeps the throttle open to maintain boost through the shift.
