They don't look bad at all but I'll be taking my chances with the odd rock chip.

It's funny, I've been out of cars for years until last month when I got the G80. When I drove e36 and E46, E39 etc, no one cared about rock chips. You used to hear of the occasional person with a 'clear bra' which literally just covered 1/4 of the trunk but everyone just waxed their cars and drove them to the limit with out a care in the world.

More time driving, less time worrying about stone chips I think is probably good for us all.

'So clean' but at what cost? Who cares, drive the thing!!

If you had just stated you got some mud flaps and showed them, I would have had not comment at all.

Yes yes, pretty simple and not uncommon on a public forum, I agree. That’s why I had my remarks about your comment and posted them. No hard feelings my friend

The best solution that I saw was one made of the same plastic the Europeans have to use for wheel extensions ( in fact our M3s have them in Europe) but they fit below, protruding to catch all the rocks etc.

I still opted not to do it just like my M3 I went with XPEL in the area. If I am unlucky enough to get something that goes through that...well that's what USAA is for.

To the OP, your car, your mods be happy. But as was mentioned when you post stuff up on a public discussion forum you have to wear a thick suit at times. You should try college football boards...your mom isn't safe!
The suit is pretty thick, LOL. I was simply replying and posting my opinion.

Yes the arches/mud flaps do have a really cheap look to them, I agree. But they get the job done.

Are you getting the black bits painted?
Yes, but not completely. I'm having vertical surfaces of the lower skirts painted body color, and leaving the portions that extend outward on those same pieces black.
That's going to be cool to see.

Hey thinking about getting a set of these for my G80. Do you have pull size pics of the car? Side shots etc? Not just close up on the guards? I want to see what the overall looks like if ya follow...

Thanks man and they look cool!

Make sure to post lots of photos. You're trail blazing for the G8X owners.

Took my car to a local car show yesterday. I was amazed at all the attention the car received with many persons taking pictures and asking me about the car. Lots of positives on the interior color and especially the 6 speed manual for the win!

I'm not surprised. It's a stand out car and the non-forum perusing average buyer seems to really like the looks.

Pretty good actually. I have over a 1000 km’s on them with a lot of driving of gravel roads. The rear fenders and the doors are spotless as of yet.

I had them on my M2 for over 12K miles and while they got beat to crap, the sides of the car were rock free. Big fan i just wish these were cut better for the body shape of the new G8x cars. They seem "off" (to me at least) from a size perspective but I'll probably still get a set anyways. They make a huge difference.

I heard TLG will release his mudflaps for the G8X soon. They are a little bigger but get the job done.

They might be generic mudflaps but TLG has very good customer service. He takes care of you
