Great video. You guys, help me out here:
at the very end, he says that the M3 Competition was the second fastest car that they tested at Thunderhill West. The fastest was the M4 base (manual). What I didn't hear him say, was why. Did anyone catch that? AFAIK the M4 isn't any (or not much) lighter, it's certainly less powerful (in base form), but I suppose there could be some chassis tuning differences. Anyone?

Everyone in the F80/F82 CS Facebook group should watch this. When I tell them I prefer the way the G80 drives compared to my F80 CS they invariably reply "obviously that's because you never tracked the CS," to which I reply "yes I did many times."

CS owners in general seem to be very protective of their badge? Progress is always great!

One example would be the one time someone (Car and Driver? I forget) got a better 0-60 time on the Manual M2C vs the DCT. Lots of folk bring it up, but it was just that one test (others got opposite results), you could stay in 2nd gear to 60 in the manual without running into the power drop-off at the top of the rev range on the M2C, and 10 MPH later the DCT was again ahead of the Manual but folk keep bringing it up. |

"Epic" video! (Turn on closed captions for some Easter egg commentary.)
I told skeptical local members of BMWCCA ... this is the M3 the engineers of all of the old cars were trying to build. Regardless of what you think of the grilles, if you're a fan of the brand, you owe it to yourself to take one out on a vigorous test drive. Just drive it! |

In our CS Facebook group we have people that got the car when it came out that paid the full sticker and we have people that paid $650 a month lol. I'm in the middle.

I almost got one for $650, couldn't do the DCT again though after my Comp.

I love the CS...but it is the first and last non-6MT I'll ever own. The car drives infinitely better than even the comp. So much fun. Wish I never test drove it.
