M Carbon Bucket Seats and female passengers
Can I please have some thoughts/opinion/experience of these seats for your ladies? I am keen on these seats but the missus is somewhat putting her foot down saying it would be uncomfortable. She would prefer the M comfort seats and asked how is she going to wear a dress/skirt. How are your missus liking them as a passenger?

Regarding your lady friends, could be problematic on entry/egress in general and, in particular, with a skirt. I am not going to repeat in this thread but, if interested, I did express some views on the topic of CFBS here. ///AVM Last edited by ///AVM; 06-01-2021 at 07:24 AM.. |

I have the comfort seats and the reason why is I did test drive the carbon seats. For a daily they are a PITA to get in and out of and seemed to me to be uncomfortable for long trips. The center definitely can’t be removed. I imagine ladies (or any non race car enthusiast) would find these seats remarkably annoying to deal with and ride on.

This has been discussed quite a few times already. I had buckets in my F80 and my wife hated them. I have the comfort seats in my G82 and my wife loves them. I like the comfort seats more as well, to the point that I would pay for the comfort seats if the buckets were the standard seat. I've seen a few other members here have the same thought. They are more comfortable with the adjustments (especially lumbar) and still have great bolstering for spirited driving. Likewise, no ventilated seat option on buckets if you live in a warm climate.

The seats are not worth anything like the price they charge--at least to me. And many have reported they are uncomfortable for anything like a long drive. The carbon fiber you're paying for would look great to a passenger in the back seat, but not really anywhere else--especially when you're driving. I really like the seats I have, very high grade materials, look great and adjustable 98 ways. To each his own, of course. But, form should follow function, not the other way around.

FWIW, I remember a dealership video about the car presented by a saleswoman in a short tight skirt. The video got extremely close to losing it's PG rating when she got into the carbon bucket seats.

I think the issue is that you can't sit with legs closed and leaned to one side comfortably due to the hump in the middle. Not a particularly safe way to sit in an accident but whatever.
Turns out carbon bucket seats aren't for daily use for most people. Also, rectal thermometers are a PITA. |

This thread delivers lol
I agree though getting in is not an issue, when I first sat in them getting out was harder. I love the seats but not something am prepared to do on the daily. |

Sometimes you gotta let the Hen know who the Rooster is....
Put your foot down and get them...they are as gorgeous as they are uncomfortable.

Agreed but they are a downgrade from the F80 ZCP seats. Once you grow accustomed to the support (not JUST on the track but during DD), you cant go back.

Girlfriend thinks they're cool and wears dresses frequently.
She also likes that she feels more secure when I throw the car into a corner. She also directs attention to them anytime new people are checking out the car(parents and friends). Would she like the comfort seats better... probably. |

I'm nervous for Friday now but it is what it is. Luckily if I don't love them I work from home and don't drive far.
