Echo the comments about his videos. Best in the business.
Very professional , gets good information across clearly and obviously very knowledgeable with his years of experience. I watch all of his videos because of this even if they are subjects I wouldn't normally be interested in. |

I think "BMW told him" is probably a bit strong, in his actual words "there are whispers of", not quite the same thing
Having said that I've no doubt BMW will milk these models for all they're worth, we already have the AWD & Touring versions on their way, so I it is almost definite there will be CS versions and maybe another GTS etc. |

This has pretty much been the impression I had ever since driving the G80 - it's really much closer to what an M5 was in terms of size, performance, and luxury.
It also aligns with what I would personally be looking to get out of one of these - I wouldn't be looking to replace the M2, but I could see it replacing both the F82 M4 and the truck (or possibly the i8 depending on how good the i4 M50s end up being). This also changes my potential transmission choice. I'm much more likely to be open to a good auto coupled with AWD for a luxury highway missile than I am for something I want to toss around at autocross or in the mountains. I've already gone through that once when getting into the i8 and the trade offs are worth it for the use case. And yet despite all this, there's a manual option for those who'll take this as their only car to live out a modern e39 experience. As far as a "can-only-have-one" car, I can't think of a better option out there right now.

Not much new here, but it's a good review for street driving. It feels like an M5 even though it hides it's weight. It's fast, it's face takes getting used to and the design is a bit unfocused. There's some good engineering taking place to hide it's weight, I can imagine how much better it would be if it employed those same techniques on a lighter version of itself.

I like that he's dry, I'm interested in his opinions on the car not the usual youtuber pointless drivel. He does a really good job compared to other youtubers. Then again he's a life long enthusiast and founder of EVO magazine, he knows how to properly judge a car as opposed to some 20 year old kid with a camera who thinks everything is great because he's got no other points of comparison.

I seriously doubt we will see a G80 in CSL form. What is the point of having a 4-door with a roll cage instead of rear seats. A CS makes much more sense for the G80.
