BMW procedure usually require putting weight (ballast) in the seats for alignment or corner balancing. I wondered if it was the case here, because the weight you quote seems like an outlier for a 6MT G8X.

You need to take the paper off the floor that's at least 300 kg. Did you correct the weight for altitude, it's probably still lighter then A civic (just a joke my entire post)

Hmmm, I think I might know who provided the scales as I've heard that number from another source. Still an outlier though. I wonder what explains that.

Well I've already assumed it burning a hole in my pocket as fact . Now the question is if all the fuss is worth the extra dough and loss of practicality. I'll know soon enough .

Fair point. But you gotta give kudos to BMW for the chassis and suspension work. The car is getting rave dynamic reviews despite the extra weight.
