Clearly we all have different views of what constitutes attractive. Against that metric, the car does better than her.

I miss when Jeremy Clarkson, James May, or Richard Hammond would do car reviews...sigh. Or god forbid, Tiff Needell....

I think the main hate for supercarblondie is she's the "overly attached girlfriend" crazy / sexy look, but basically just regurgitates a few brochure talking points, never really drives the car more than 20 feet / 30 seconds worth of tooling around, and is OH MY GOD SO STUNNED AND EXCITED BY EVERYTHING LIKE OMG GUYS DID YOU KNOW THIS THING IS CARBON FIBER?!!!

The schtick gets old after like 2 videos, even if the first one sucked you in with "ooooo hot blonde lady and WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT CAR I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT HOLY - oh, it's a prototype? Oh, they're not actually going to drive it, just flash the lights and maybe rev it a couple times? Ooook...."

edit - this was the first time I learned about how the carbon fiber McLaren F1 was made, and also the first (and really, only) time I got THAT into watching a video about someone getting excited over carbon fiber :

Side note, that McLaren video is from like 1999. While there are just as good more modern videos detailing the production process, with higher quality video, production value, etc, the point is that it's monumentally more impressive and exciting than some trim bits and such. Maybe I'm just jaded, but dude, I'm in my mid 30s - I can't really blame anyone older than me who's seen far more for not really getting into supercarblondie's level of excitement over this you know?

If you guys want to see the new M3/M4 driven really hard go check this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSd8SuvTWxM

It's in German and he was not allowed to turn off the ESC completely but he still drove it hard. (around 27min)

Yes it's still in Prototype Camo but in the video they say it's how the new cars will come.

I vote the title for this thread goes from "Driving Review" to "Review" to avoid click-bait remarks.

The whole video was super cringey....

While watching this video, it became far too obvious that the race to acquire more 'likes' was more important than the subject of the video.

Carbon fiber package + ceramic brakes = $19K USD. The sequel to this video focusing on deeper exploration of these two options and alarming prices would make me a subscriber.

This video...As if the car design wasn't getting enough bad reviews on its own.

I titled it as such because it's not really a driving review but it's more than we've gotten so far.

I also can't stop wondering if that blonde hair is actually part of the hat, and she really has short black hair under that getup...
Huh? The BMW can rev to 7000 rpm once the engine is warmed up. I believe that’s also a feature of the F series is it not? Also if you don’t want CF don’t order it. The fact that most of you are constantly attacking everything about this car, yet continue to watch as information, pictures and videos are released is mind boggling.

The point is revving a brand new car to red line before break-in is done. I however doubt this press car will end up in the hands of a paying customer.

I personally love CF. I think what people have issue with here is how this supercar blondie chick makes it out as bling, a way to flash your money: "Get the CF, it will show others how much money you have spent on this car", just like buying the latest LV sneakers .

No way Covid is responsible for a lack of good driving reviews...
This is from a BMW employee in Munich who I got the information from in the first place.

"I would say 90% sure that yes, they'll be doing some kind of driving event for journalists but lock down no doubt is causing issues. we held a journalist day before lockdown where we had a variety of cars for people to drive but that was done in the UK and all within covid guidelines."

I would be shocked if it isn’t causing issues with normal type of events. On the other hand handing the keys to a proper reviewer for a day shouldn’t be a violation of any COVID protocols.

Where did I bash the car? I love CF...It was the annoying uninformed nature of the video that was the subject of my post...I simply posted a transcript of what was said. And watching a car purportedly being driven for the "first time on video" after less than 1/2 gallon of gas was added (was there even gas in that can, really?), then being revved to 7K shortly thereafter...nun, das tut mir weh Bimmer7. Das its alles, nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

The peanut gallery of people who complain about everything will never acknowledge this. You wanna talk about the grille, the weight, the slushbox AT, etc., I'm all ears. You want to take the marketing as a personal affront or a deliberate attempt by BMW M to alienate you as a consumer, I got nothing for you. They just want to talk about the Kith collab being indicative of BMW M's fall from grace when I happen to know 2 people who are buying the car as a result of the awareness that collab created.

How do they get there? Travel is so restricted within the EU. The fact is BMW M still has plenty of time before the car is really on sale to release such things. The people like me jumping on early allocations don't need to be sold all that hard.

The pandemic is a lame excuse. Get the cars out there and have the reviewers drive them locally. From what I see, there are already plenty of G8X located all around the world just waiting to be driven.

I have watched and read several dozen good/credible driving reviews of my next car, which was also released in the middle of the pandemic. And it is those reviews, praising how good of a drive it is, that swayed me over.

As my college philosophy 101 professor told us, "universals are never true" (although that in itself is a universal). Sure, there will be some young people with money that might buy it, same with maybe some 90yo's. The buyers/age is a bell curve. It doesn't seem to make sense to me to spend money marketing it to the low end of the curve
