Signed. Hopefully the aftermarket fixes the damn front end.

I want this car as much as anyone but them not bringing it to the US doesn't mean they lack passion. |

Would I love BMW to just eat $50 million to bring the G81 to the US? Again, of course. But I get why they won't and I don't think it has to do with passion, as you said. |

Where are you going to go though? Mercedes and Audi don't offer a C-class wagon or a A4 Avant in the US either.
You can step up to a E63 wagon or a RS6 Avant, but those are M5 competitors with a price tag to match. In addition, at M3/RS5/C63 tier, the M3 is the only car that offers a manual gearbox, so "true enthusiasts" are not going go to MB/Audi at this level if they want to row their own gears. |

If nothing changes and BMW doesn't offer it in the US, I wouldn't hesitate to jump ship to Audi or Benz. It doesn't have to be a brand new car. I still would happily consider a low mileage E63S Wagon or RS6 Avant. |

Assuming people are seeing the email update to the petition detailing how BMW NA Professional Car Council would love the car to come but costs to federalize, etc. are a concern and will be much more expensive since the standard wagon is no longer offered here. Also a discussion on premium people are willing to pay over the standard coup/sedan/convertible. Not that they would price the car in RS6 territory but the dollars and cents angle is ultimately the key here.
Anyone know how much a vehicle costs to federalize? Several hundred thousand? More? Time to set up a GoFundMe page? |

Just saw the Change.org update.
I'd be willing to look at a $90k+ starting MSRP with a $5k deposit to secure one.

Well I don't like the fact that they want us to pay for their lack of planning. In Canada the E63 wagon is 3000$ more than the sedan and our C43 wagon is 1000$ more than the C43 sedan. So the price premium of the G81 should be somewhere in between 1000-3000$ more than the G80. Otherwise they have the receipt for a sale failure. Just bring the G21 to spread the cost.

Same here... F8x M2/M3/M4 all have their batteries in the trunk and I don't think it's any different for G8x models (of which sedan, coupe and cabrio are already homologated for the US market).

Truthfully 90k is what I would wanna pay fully loaded. Above that the thought of the RS6/e63s does start creeping in. But I do prefer the size of a M3 touring.

Anyway since the chances are so slim I will probably end up in a Mercedes or Audi dealer.
