Wow... 17 posts before a knock on the grill. I guess wagon enthusiasts get it.
I’m going Coupé but I would love to see the tourers. One to the U.S. market. I think a wagon is so much cooler than a big ass, big dollar, big grilled SUV. I’ll never understand high performance SUVs. A touring wagon is like old school hot rod. |

For example, cars.com has over 2 thousand new E Class models cars, you know how many are wagons? 142. Want to know how many total new E63s (the high performance wagon, the same market that BMW would be chasing for the G81), 13. There are 13 total new E63S wagons for sale in America. Volvo V90 R-Design models? 27, total, in the entire country. Enthusiast wagons simply don't sell. Sure, there are plenty of VW Jetta Sportwagons and Golf Sportwagons but they have a cult following and their own SUVs outsell those. It's a completely different customer that BMW is chasing with a $80K wagon. Unfortunately for us, there' aren't enough customers to make it profitable.

Well, in another thread I went on record saying that I would buy this car if they bring it to the states, and if it didn't have the grilles.
Sadly, it has the grilles But, the hopeful part of me wonders if maybe they will fix the front in the LCI. |

We also don't pay emission taxes in the US, such in Europe were M cars are D and F grades = high taxes. Why the US is such a large M market, we're not taxed on emissions.

Whilst not a fan of the design language in the new M3/M4, this looks great even before the camo has come off. The grille sits so much better to me on this shape.

Seeing an RS6 in person, it is a much bigger vehicle. The G81 will feel much more nimble and spirited. IMO - Enthusiasts want a wagon larger than a hatchback, but not as large as the RS6. M3/G81 is the perfect size. |

👍 But I am salty about COVID cancelling my bimonthly vacations to Europe, 2 M track programs in DE and IT, and finally Oktoberfest for my planned 4th ED for a swan song F83 ZCP— now waiting for the G83, which will be available in the US

Kudos to BMW for this one 👍
Now ditch the ugly grille or offer us at least a „classic grille" bumper option.. even if it's just as an overpriced aftermarket m performance part.. 😟 |

Looks really good... I rather the sedan but trading the X5M for this wouldn't be a bad choice either..🤔

So if we are not getting a G series wagon I guess this isn't coming to the US?

BMW could do the same. They simply don't want to throw any money into it, and that's fine. It doesn't make business sense to them. But saying their hands are tied because performance wagons don't sell is a bit off. They don't sell in huge numbers, but few great cars do.
