The F82 M4 was such a prefect car, they really going to mess it up for the next generation and probably beyond..
That's just tragic.. #Sad |

I wasn't a huge fan of the F8x when it was first revealed, Austin Yellow didn't help that either. It wasn't as polarizing as this design but it did take time for me to get used to it. I made it a point to reserve full judgement until I was able to see the car in person and view it at different angles. I'm taking the same approach here.

Plus special M4 models will be overpriced and will be living on dealer lots. With the M2 and M8 yacht, I question the need for the M4 boat. |

I didn't read diligently but how does the size and weight compare to F82? Is it getting slightly larger or starting the same?

My biggest disappointment i think is the size , is it just me? Or it seems bigger than the previous M4 ? As for their design language , its known that it wont look like any previous BMW/M car anyway . Surely the grills will live up too us , by the years everyone will get used to them.

I don't think people will get use this one; once the novelty of it being the new M4 on the block wears off, it's exaggerated, cartoonish facial features will begin to show, as the model ages. I never really followed the F82 when it came out like I'm doing with this generation but even if you knew nothing about it, when you managed to see one in person, it really caught your attention and left you in awe with its sleek appearance. I just don't see this vehicle having this same instance appeal. More like an acquired taste. This car looks like it's trying too hard to stand out and they just overkilled the design. I would of really liked to be a fly on wall, in the board-room meeting, the day the designers green-lit this monstrosity. Let's take our signature grille and turn it up to 11, Ja? |

Nobody here knows except maybe SCOTT26 and a few insiders. What you're reading are statements made by members who haven't a clue, and who act like the cars produced by the competition are both lighter and smaller. We don't have any official specs, so it's funny to read definitive comments about track, length, weight, etc.

The chances of IND producing a front bumper with normal grille is 100%. Price will be $5k and will be combined with painted reflectors package

I know some cars look off in pictures and then look pleasing in real life, but I don't think that's the case for this car honestly. Just look at that render that is apparently so close to the real deal.
I looked at it real hard. It does not look like a BMW FFS. It looks like a replica of what a 3rd tier car company thinks an M car is. I don't see any strong lines, I see no character in it. When you look at an F8x car, if you like it or not, you cannot deny that it is a purposeful car and it is most definitely a BMW! It has some poise, it has the right amount of presence without being flashy and you know its different. Even for people who cant chew gum and walk at the same time, they will see the car on the street and know something is up. It grabs attention the right way. I know this is beaten to death but damn! This new batch of BMWs are being designed by either the PR/Marketing teams or ill informed second rate car designers with zero regard for BMW's history. I know BMW is trying to grab more market share, but they are going about it the wrong way. They are not achieving that balance of what it was and what it will be. They need focus!

P.S. The F30 and G20 are very close in overall width and height. So close that the difference is negligible. The G20 is a couple inches longer, but even that isn't really something that the eye registers. |

BTW, I'm not even shit talking here but the G20 M340i feels like a boat compared to the F30 335i. I'm not sure what voodoo magic is going on with it because everyone that drove mines confirmed it felt larger to command. That I'm 100% sure of and based on the cumulative information available, I was making a safe assumption that the G80/82 will be a larger vehicle. But once again, we'll all just spitballing here based on the information at hand. |
