Engine dress bolts torque specs?

Have the deluxe Downstar Titanium kit - wondering if there is a consolidated document of all the torque specs?
really only curious on the larger bolts - such as a strut bolt and center brace bolt.
All the little stuff - tightened snug.

If you can’t torque them to spec, especially the chassis reinforcement ones…. 🍚

Does anyone know what the torque spec is on the bolts circled in the attached photo?

Thanks!

I should really put all the toques on a diagram...

Thanks for the reply. Where did you find that info, out of curiosity? And is that spec for the new downstar or the OEM bolts?

I only ask because I also posted to a FB group and got a response of 56nm + 90° for the OEM bolts. I have been holding off on replacing the those with the downstar versions until I had this info.

Thanks again!

you can't really just swap steel bolts for titanium and apply the same torque + angle spec , the whole point of a torque + angle value is to ensure a specific clamping force that accounts for bolt stretch. but titanium and steel bolts stretch very differently, and the resulting clamping force will not be the same.

Yeah, thanks. Appreciate the info. That’s why I was asking about if mapper’s figure was specific to the Downstar bolts. Also, I did not go with the titanium bolts, I’ve got the stainless steel.

These are OEM specs. 56nm is 41 ft lbs. Which is what I stated for those bolts.

Thanks mapper. Sorry, I have a habit of reading ft lbs as nm. I don’t know why I keep doing that, but I definitely did in this case. I guess I’m just used to thinking in terms of nm.

So, any idea what I should torque the Downstar replacements to? Or should I just leave the OEM bolts in place?

Downstar really should supply this info with their bolt kits.

Thanks again!

Downstar really should.
With nothing else to go by. I figured one could just tighten to what one feels is good enough or target OE. I chose target OE.
Chris is right though different bolts will have different clamp. Is there another option when installing titanium?
For steel bolts you are likely closer to spec.

i actually forgot that downstar makes the bolts in both steel and Ti. with the steel bolts i would probably just try to get it as close to the oem spec as possible. those downstar replacement bolts are using 8mm hex heads as compared to the oem etorx E18, and you may not be be able to get the full 90deg angle on them. if you're concerned about that i would just leave those stock.

I emailed Downstar to ask, but have yet to get a response. But I’ll give them a few days more. That’s also why I came here to look for any answers.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate all the input.

Just to follow up, Downstar did get back to me today. They said they recommend using the OEM torque spec.

Installed the last few Downstar bolts today. Here’s the finished job. I went with navy blue washers to give a bit of blue highlights to the engine bay. My calipers are blue and I have the Yas Marina Blue/Yellow interior. So you can see the color theme of my car.

Thanks again for the info folks. Much appreciated.
