I just moved from NE Ohio. I tried to work with BMW Westlake and pick up a X3 for the wife, all I will say is they are indeed a complete joke of a dealer.

+1 on BMW of Cleveland being the way to go.

Really? Buying at BMW Cleveland was probably the best experience I’ve had buying a car yet (this is my 4th). My sales person Mirco was the least pushy, most up front sales person I’ve ever dealt with. Did not once try to push me into anything, if he didn’t know an answer to a question I had he didn’t bullshit me, he just found the answer and got back to me. When it came to trading in my old F80 they were incredibly honest and fair. The offer they made me was within 3k of the number I wanted already and actually wound up getting an extra $1,000 more just by asking. The whole signing process was great. The person I signed all my papers with outright said “look I’m going to offer you a bunch of packages. I think you’re smart enough to know what to say but I have to offer them anyway.” And when I took delivery, because it was early February, they swapped the summer Pilot Sport 4s’s with a set of Pilot Sport A/S 4’s I had bought for free before I picked the car up and stored the other tires.

As for service, I haven’t done much other than routine maintenance so far but I can’t say I’ve had any issues there yet. I guess one time after the oil change they forgot to reset the light but came out and did it right away.

BMW Westlake on the other hand…. I wouldn’t leave my car in their parking lot for an hour… let alone let them touch it. I’m really not one to trash places but they really honestly deserve it. Sales team was a complete joke, tried telling me I had to trade in my F80 that day and be left with no car while I waited 9 months for the new one to be built. Wanted a “non refundable” $5,000 deposit. Told me both of my turbos were blown and wanted $10k to replace them sight unseen… and when I went up there to see why the issue was, magically it went away? Used an impact driver to over torque my charge pipe after a spark plug replacement and cracked the eyelet on the charge pipe causing it to fly off on the highway under my hood, then tried saying it was my fault somehow when you could clearly see the head of the screw was stripped to hell. Don’t even get me started on the first bmw I ever bought from them with a faulty transmission which almost wound up in court.

To summarize - BMW Cleveland = good. BMW Westlake = horrible.

I meant BMW Cleveland is aggressive in a good way. Not pushy at all. Aggressive in offering the best deal with no BS.

Just came across this thread after picking up an F80 recently. I’m in Lake County- Painesville. You guys have any good routes for spirited driving? There’s some nice curvey roads with elevation changes out here by the Grand River.

Do you guys ever get together? Anyone have mods? I’ve spent way too much time reading in this forum and would love to see some options in person. Also I need to find a reputable shop for installs. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Shawn
I’m on the east side too- definitely looking to find some other Bimmer enthusiasts in the area.
