Yeah well it didn't look so good when they first painted it in hideous school bus 🚌 yellow! The enthusiasts on this forum basically forced the BMW Exterior Designers hands to paint it in a proper race livery, so I didn't look so hideous with the original yellow paint job it had.

"I can overlook the large grill, and I think the more we see it on the road, the more it's style will grow on us, but what I cannot overlook, at least until I drive it at the limit, is the weight and size increase."
My thoughts exactly. |

Thanks for sharing! I'm still a big fan of the IOMG over KO combo on the G80.... if only it were 7/8ths scale and 500 lbs lighter lol but for a fun, practical [manual] daily it still checks off most of the boxes.

I went to this event as well, I can say that I was much more impressed with both the M3/M4 than the pictures I had seen, enough to the point that it has likely changed my mind on the car.
I had the same opinion about the M235i being more fun than the M340i. As someone who does not have a ton of experience and have been to a handful of these events and at Thermal, I can say the M235i just instills more confidence for me as a less experienced driver. I do think the M340i looks significantly better though. |

Thank you for sharing. What paint and interior (seat) colors are those on the M3? I do like that gray and blue matte paint options, but I simply do not know if the matte finish will work with my inclination toward rarely ever washing my vehicles? ///AVM |

IoMG looks more vibrant in these pics versus any other pics I've seen. Are these filtered? Thanks for sharing them.

Most smartphone photos are more flat and have significantly less dynamic range and tend to vary from too much saturation to too little. I like to make those decisions myself for photos like this.

Very surprised to hear your thoughts on the 235 GC vs 340. I personally found the 340 to be a far better car with greater limits and more balance/feedback at those limits. The 235 obviously wasn't a Camry in the corners but the understeer was very prominent.
But then again my autocross/track experience is very limited.

Not to say that the M340i wasn't fun or capable. I did manage to induce a very tiny bit of a drift/slide between the back two right turns turns with the M340i (as much as could be allowed in sport mode and whatever TC setting it was on), which was much easier to do with the added power. I thought I was going to get kicked off the course. The instructor did mention that drifting wasn't the fastest way around the course, I took that as a warning.

Yes, the transmission is linked to the Competition package. M3 and M4 are manual only, M3 Competition and M4 Competition are only available with the ZF 8AT. There is no manual Competition model or automatic base model available. The future M xDrive all wheel drive will only be available with the Competition package + automatic transmission.

How long till the front bumper fix will be available? I suppose if they start now, they get their hands on a model and internal measurements, it should be available at launch.
BMW should be able to give a discount for the front bumper fix. |

Green over orange is not a color combination I would ever imagine I'd own but that's looking like my choice. I just love it.

For some reason it works. Not that I would order this combo! I'd get white with the orange interior.
