Did they say how many hours it would take? I would think installing intakes and a valve controller is maybe 2-3 hours of work for someone who knows what they're doing?
Not sure about the shop's rate but $450 makes it seem like close to half a day of work? That seems a bit high. A lot of these shops charge for the time they spend standing around smoking cigarettes and shooting the shit. Or they know it's for an M3 and tried to charge a premium. Depends which intakes. Valve controller is a 30 min job.

Both are really simple jobs you can do with hand tools. Valve controller literally takes 15 minutes. Intakes maybe 30-40 minutes.
Any shop is gonna charge you book time. So it’s up you. You’re paying for convenience. |
