Thinking of switching from 2024 X5 M to a 2024 G80
Yes yes I know, the X5 M and M3 Competition are completely different things...
Has anyone done this either direction? I come from a drag racing background and frankly I'm really underwhelmed with the options for aftermarket performance on my X5 M... Plus the "community" is frankly boring, no one is interested really in horsepower they're more concerned with aesthetic aspects of the car and gadgets, I'm not. With all of that said clearly the "fun" seems to be more common with the G80. I heard a G80 with a single turbo and kinda thought, damn it I need one. There's a nice one in Oregon (I'm in California). https://www.audibend.com/en/inventor...3AY00RFS86325# I'm looking for something fun, this isn't my daily driver, hell I've owned my X5 M for over a year and have put 1,500 miles on it. Has anyone driven both? I'm trying to find one local to test drive. Thanks. |

I went to G82 M4 competition from a F90 M5 Competition , because the M5 was so boring to drive. I would imagine the x5M is even worse.
Now after 4 years, the G82 is still exciting to drive .

I just switched from a '22 X6M to a '23 G80 manual.
Obviously there's pros and cons to both. The X6M is a much better highway cruiser (Softer ride, quieter, etc), and has way more luxurious appointments. I have a 6MT M3, so that alone makes the car much more fun to daily drive. I don't really do long trips in this car anymore, so the morning commute is a blast. Maybe my only complaint is that the gas tank on the G80 is so small, my range is only about 315 miles or so, compared to over 400 miles on the X6M. Feels like I'm at the pump all the time. I'm happy with the switch. |
