Exhaust valves position when parked in sport plus

Apologies if this was answered before but I could not find anything. I was readjusting my midpipe today and when checking for leaks with car started, in park, just idling, I noticed that my right side valve stay closed even in Sport Plus mode. Left side is closed in Comfort and opens in Sport Plus, right side always stayed closed. Can someone please confirm that it is supposed to be like that?

Sometimes, I noticeably hear valve(s) closing when parked in sport+. It’s not consistent though. Happened randomly.

Neither valve should be open all that much just idling. The valves only open about 30%, then more with more throttle input. You sure it's completely closed?

Now that you asked I am not 100%.... but it looked to be in the same position as it was when car was in comfort/not started and vibrating a bit, I will need to look again with better flashlight, not easy to see.

OEM valve logic drives me crazy, with midpipe I can hear sudden increase in volume sometimes, even if I am not pushing need valve controller

i dont see anything in the oem calibration that would put the valves in different positions intentionally. there's a few tables that are specific to a single valve, but all the values are set the same.

i'm going to be removing an SST valve controller from my car this weekend if you're looking for one of those.

SST is what I am thinking about, but if I am not mistaken they were updated to support 25% increments, this is what I want, I don't think I like 100% open sound, I just want to keep valves permanently open but probably not at 100% so have more control is nice. Only thing I don't like about SST is cheap looking remote. I am not 100% sure yet but please PM with details.

yes you'll have to buy a new one to get the 25% increments since they made them non-upgradeable.

personally after experimenting for a while i just programmed 100% open and OEM to the homelink buttons and didnt use the remote anymore. now i've simplified further and programmed the valves to be 100% open in sport+ via DME tune and "quiet mode" by pushing the OEM exhaust button , which is why i'm selling it.

i took it out already and it's posted here https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=31448674
