Ordering An M3 opinions on options

Hey Guys!

Sorry first time posting and I hope I don't get anyone heated but I finally got my allocation, I'll be selling my 1LE soon and after months of deciding on color combo and options I finally got down to the basics however there are two options I am still trying to decide on

So as far as the car goes I know I am ordering the Full Fiona red interior with the Carbon bucket seats, and carbon package

But I am having a tough time on two things, the wheels and the color of the car, originally I planned on aventurine red but I realized red on red is a bit too much red so here is my Dilema

For the exterior colors i'm torn on Fashion Grey, and Chalk, both colors I have not seen in person but in every picture I see of each they always look so different from one another, I've seen fashion grey on a f80 m4 but on the m5 it looks different as an example, what I worry is the Chalk being too much on the white side of the scale, how does chalk look in person, does the slight khaki really come out? I love that khaki color, so fashion grey was the other I was trying to decide on but it looks TOO khaki in some videos, but looks light and nice in others so thats the first Dilema

The other is the wheels I had originally wanted to get the 826m All black wheels but I have seen the other rim options in bi-color(not the 826m the other design) in person and it REALLY pops but only as I drove by, which do you think would look better on the chalk color? Ive seen that rim in all black on the new M2 and I love it but its not on the m3 :/

the more I look at each color the more I can't choose (though im leaning slightly to the chalk color)

And the more I look at each rim It makes it hard to choose as the black 826m wheels look gorgeous they look too much like the one on the f80 so to me they seem dated, and the more I look at the new design, I love it , the brushed front POPS but I feel on the lighter color it'll look ugly, plus it reminds me too much of the GTI style "black inside brushed outside" look so it also bothers me

What do you guys think I should do? Im torn here, I wish I was able to find more M3s with the non 862m wheels but I only found 2 pictures one on a IOMG and the other on a tanzanite

Let me know what you guys think! and sorry for being so picky the M3 has been a dream car since I was a kid so I'm finally able to afford one

thanks guys!

I really like both Fashion Gray and Chalk. I think either would be great with the black 826m wheels. The chalk will be better with Fiona interior and 826m wheels.

My build that I’m about to give to dealer for a 2024 MY when they become available. I’m hoping the USA website updates to 2024 soon for the M3.

M3C xD
Port Blue
826M black wheels
Kyalami Full
Carbon Fiber trim
Park Assist
CCB
LED headlights
M Carbon exterior
Wireless Charging
M shadowline lights
MP HAS (Z58)
MP CF/Tit Tips
MP CF front lip
MP CF side skirts

MSRP $111,612 -> 2023 pricing

No rush on allocation or build time. I have a year left on my current lease.

Car color is such a personal choice but drives the interior color choice, then wheels, for me. I have an affinity for the blues, lol.

My debate was M850i GC vs this build. That build was around $118k. Pros were 8 series vs 3. V8 vs I6. BW vs HK sound. Cons were smaller wheels. No HAS option at port that I could see. Exhaust tip/housing is ugly to me. True M vs not.

Based on what you wrote, I would go with Fashion Grey. It's a very unique, cool color that you won't see a lot of, and ticks your khaki box.

If you want to go a little different with your wheels, check out the 825M (the "other wheels" you're referring to) in Orbit Grey. They look really good and I think would pair nicely with Fashion Grey. I would have gotten them myself, but thought they would disappear with the darker paint of Grigio Telesto. So I got the 825Ms in bi-color, which is actually polished and brighter than I expected, but looks really good.

First off Red on Red is amazing.

But Chalk with Fiona would have been my choice if individual colors were available when I got my allocation.
And I second the 825M wheels in Orbit Grey with either color.

Red on Red. If you can handle the attention .

chalk does have a bit of khaki color to it. especially in the shade. fashion is similar, a bit darker. can't really go wrong either.

i have a chalk gt3. it does change from whitish in direct sun to a more nardo look in the shade/evening.

this side by side comparo might help

RS is fashion grey

Both great colors. I’d probably lean slightly towards chalk as it feels a bit more fresh and modern to me. I went SSG with the 826m in black…so you know where I stand on wheel color.

Especially with the lighter chalk color, the contrast of the black wheels and Shadowline trim against the lighter paint will look sweet.

Here are more 825m bicolor wheels (the other you’re referring to) on my Brooklyn Gray car….same family of colors. Hope this helps! I have plenty more pics if you need them!

Hey guys thanks for the pictures!! I ended up finding pictures of a chalk m3 with the bicolor 825 rims but it’s just too light it didn’t match the chalk color, it looks good on Brooklyn gray and darker colors

The dealer got some more m3s in I was able to see some options, but I’ll be committing to the 826 all black rims with the chalk exterior color

I’m also going to commit to the carbon fiber splitter and the performance suspension upgrade

Though not sure if anyone has info on the m performance steering wheel, I’ve seen lots of pictures of the wheel with the blue middle indicator, but I’ve seen a red one once before, anyone know if there is a dealer option (from port) of the m performance wheel with the red middle tick?

Thank you guys!

I don't think you can go wrong with any of your options. Sorry that doesn't help. With the performance wheel you'll lose heating but you're in LA so probably not an issue.

What's the performance suspension option?

Keep in mind that the 825 rim is a bit heavier than the 826.
May not be an issue for you.

I dont mind losing the heated steering wheel, but will it be with the red middle indicator, I don’t want it to have the blue one :/ and it 2850 as a port install I think , it’s on the sticker as an option, it lowers the car, it’s basically adjustable springs

Weight I don’t really mind, I think the chalk/black/ carbon fiber look is going to be the best bet at this point

Also committing to the carbon fiber exhaust tips

Hmm I don't know about Chalk or Fashion Grey. Both have kind of odd hue (different from Grey) so are you sure Fiona Red interior will go well? Don't get me wrong, I think Fiona Red interior is awesome. I thought it looked nice with Brooklyn Grey because there are no other hues within but not too sure about Chalk or FG. With that said, Chalk might be better than FG. Finally, if you are going the individual route, it really opens up a lot of options for you.

The adjustable springs you're referring to is MPHAS kit which I believe is option code Z58.
