Does BMW's extended warranties have to be purchased at time of new vehicle delivery?

I’ve heard no. You can get one right before the factory warranty expires. This is according to my Broker. I have never tested it before but I plan to on this build(bw15).

From what I know, yes, you can buy it after delivery right before the factory warranty is done. HOWEVER, I have heard the prices are bumped up for post delivery extended warranty along with the regular annual price increase due to inflation or increased cost etc etc blah blah. So just keep that in mind

I was quoted 3.5k at time of delivery in 2019 for my audi for the extended warranty and when it expired end of last year (due to miles, not time), I asked pricing and it was around 5.5-6k. Not sure if it is different with bmw but that’s just my experience. Good luck

Just picked mine up today so I’ll give some input. You can purchase extended warranties after and don’t have to buy them right away. Only one you can only buy right away is the warranty for tire, rims and windshield. Extended can be purchased down the road!

The only benefit of buying the warranty at signing is you can roll it into your payment.

you can buy a extended warranty all the way up to the end of the factory warranty.

The WHEEL AND TIRE programs can ONLY be bought at signing, once the car leaves the lot you are no longer able to purchase that plan.

anyone interested in ext warranty plans we blow them out for forum members: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1676787

saved your info... will definitely contact you when I'm ready to buy.

based on what what I've found so far, the maximum coverage for BMW's own extended warranties is up to 7 years or 100,000 miles? Is this still correct?

THANKS!

I'll also add my experience from when I bought my F82 M4. I wasn't interested in financing it, had some cash for it but wasn't in a rush for it.
The dealer offered a zero interest installment plan on it when I was about to walk away from adding it to my purchase.
Not sure if they still do that. But it might help lock in a lower price and avoid added interest charges.
