Redline 360 Escort SmartCord location?

I have a BlendMount for the Redline and don't want to do the mirror tap option as I like having a remote mute button vs constantly tapping the top of the detector.

Anyone added the SmartCord for a hardwire on your Escorts? Where did you hide the remote control box? I have seen some do it on the side of the steering wheel and think that is ugly and not a great solution. On my X3 I have a V1 setup with the remote display mounted in the cubby in front of the center cup holders. thinking something similar.

Any links to the center console disassembly would be great too.

Hi,
My smart cord will not will not fit into the cigarette socket … tried a bunch and it won't power on. If I plug in a USB adapter the socket works

Smart Cord is for hardwire and remote display/mute button. Does not use the "cigarette" power socket.

I too could not get the power socket to work with the included power supply. I did shave down the tip to get it to go in deeper and make contact. It is a known issue that the power socket is deeper than normal and some plugs do not work, Redline 360 being the most common that does not.

If you order the current Smart Cord Live it works in the socket with no adapter... its $100 but it solved the problem

I tapped into the fuse box with an Add-a-fuse and it is now switched with the ignition and goes to sleep when the car shuts down. I put the tiny display box just above and to the right of the cup holder cubby and set the 360 display to off. I have the audio alerts on with a quick mute. only 2 rides in with this setup and liking it so far.

ended up with the remote mute box here... wires are slid down behind the trim and is hardwired into the fuse box running up the A pillar to the mirror. A little fuzzy dot over the green LED because it is brighter than the FREAKIN SUN.
