Hey guys,

Just picked up my G80 from dealership drove directly home and when I parked and looked I seen that there is some condensation in the headlights. Any advice, is this normal car has 15 miles on it.

I wouldn't really worry about it unless it becomes a repeat issue. Give it a few days to see if it's getting any better and see if you notice it again after some rain. Nice spec, dravit with red / orange interior!!!

It’s somewhat normal, though if it happens excessively I would get it checked.

Don’t think I’ve seen it happen on my G81 yet, saw it multiple times on my F82 and E90 M3.

Sit down tonight and read your owners manual.

What model year is this? If current it should have the vent update 🤔

Just picked it up 2024 but it just went away and after taking a look at the manual seems to be common just needs to be driven with headlights and it goes away. Apparently happens in really cold weather or humid weather. Hopefully not a constant issue, SA mentioned if it continues they will rectify the issue.

I had the same in my N55 M2 OG. Reading about it they said that it is normal but the dealer has replaced all of the problematic headlights and backlights under warrenty

When you say it’ll go away, do you mean it’ll go away each time there’s minor condensation or that it’ll go away after the first couple days of ownership? I just picked up my car today 2024 and same thing happened when I got home. Hopefully it’s gone in the morning.

The first one. I noticed some condensation after car washes, then it goes away.

Headlights look fine to me. Some condensation is okay and will go away by itself in a day when not wet.

I had an issue where my driver side headlight had massive condensation and it would not go away. Even for days. Brought it to get serviced and service rep confirmed that it is abnormal as apparently they have a scale of some sort to determine if the condensation in the headlight is normal or abnormal. If you headlights condensation looks like mine in the pic, then get it checked out.

I picked up my 24 M3cx last week and also noticed some condensation on the passenger side headlight that is a little worse than yours but it went away after I drove around and parked in the garage. I guess it's normal but I have to wait and see after the car wash.

Just like my mans said so graciously, in the manual it states it’s normal just need to keep your headlights on for a couple minutes and it seems to clear the fog. From my experience fellas.

same problem on the 2 headlights
a first intervention without changing the headlights
then a second operation during which 2 headlights were changed
there's clearly something wrong with these headlights, which is probably why they don't sell them any more

Yeah that's definitely excessive. Haven't seen it that bad.

Have a look at this thread about the “scale” BMW might be using (not sure how official this is…)
